If you are looking for a place of acceptance, adventure, and fun i highly recomend camp out. I have a certain level of anxiety and I tend to be a bit socially awkward but the level of kindness and acceptance here was unmatched in my travels. The permanent residence were very open and accepting invited all to their private pre and post event get togethers. Im not gonna lie my anxiety was exceptionally high on day one bc I have never been to a gay clothing optional campground and the idea was a bit out of my comfort zone but I've always been curious. I this case we can say curiosity definitely did not kill the cat. I had a perfect weekend(pun intended lol). When I got there the staff was kind and informative, the sites where nicely trimmed easy to find and spacious. After I set up camp I definitely had a sense of awkwardness, I think its because of how comfortable everyone was just being themselves, I have never been anywhere else where people go about there existence with no cares as to what the rest of the world thinks of them. It was fantastic and freeing, all body types and no judgment (mainstream society should take notes imo). I continued my adventure with stole around the campus anxiously puffing on cigarettes(i know, iknow, not goood for me) i wanted to see all of what camp out has to offer. Fist stop was the restroom my trip there plus the waters I drank while setting up camp ment mother nature was calling. The main bath house was very cleanly and offered indoor and outdoor showers. From here I stopped to see the pavilion as that is where the evenings glow part was to be held. The pavilion is your traditional open air outdoor venue with concrete floors and an acceptional audio system. It was tastefully decorated with variouse neon orange, green, and blue tapestries with fun designs. From here I made my way through the front of the campus nearest the road I had come in on, and by now, I was also looking for someone open for a conversation in hopes of getting a tour guide and possibly a friend(keep in mind i was on this adventure alone). I continued through the two loops of the front fields that were full of beautiful rvs, travel busses, and campers of varying sizes. After completing the nice expansive open loops towards the front of the campus I headed towards the back hilly side and by no means does the hill detract from this campground, it lends itself to beatufil views both of the landscape and those of us walking it. When heading up any of the several roads that lead up the hill the pool is tucked away on the far left above and behind the pavilion. The pool is conveniently large with music and entertainment. There was plenty of lounge chairs around the pool and it was a site I recommend to all who venture here. I dont necessarily care to swim, so I hung out on the nicely landscaped and manicured hillside that also had lounge chairs with landscape rock oitcroppings. The view from here was tantalizing. I continued my treck to the upper section of the campus all the while hoping to run into someone to show me the ropes and the culture of the place(I have some trouble with new social environments, can't read a room well lol). The upper part of the campus is one part wooded with mostly tents and one section that is more open with permanent rv's and cabins. All the permanent rv's are wonderfuly decorated, and most having large decks and gazebos of one sort or the other. I will note the rv's on the side closet to the hillside uptop had quite a view. At this point in my exploration I was flagged down by a handsome gentleman under a gazebo. The gentleman under the gazebo for this instance well say was named Emmett, it was his and his husbands gorgeous camper the brand of which im unsure but just from the outside views it looked like a luxurious machine. Attached to the side is a large deck spanning the full length of the camper totally covered by and expansive roof. Behind the camper ... this is all I have room for here, for the full review find me on TikTok @bohobrothers where i share my opinions...

I forgot her name, but the lady who checked me in was super friendly and very welcoming, as we bonded over wondering if the restroom door closed on its own from a possible ghost. Shoutout to Kevin who was there at check-in and kindly offered me to follow him showing me where my campsite was. Extra special shoutout to Jose for helping me set up my tent (not one of your rental tents) and knicked his finger in the process, thanks so much for the extra hands.
I visited solo, which was a little scary for me going into this without knowing what to expect. I picked a tent area that happened to have open spots on either side of me and now I kind of wish I had neighbors, it probably would have helped break me out of my shell. I did break out of my comfort zone a bit by walking around in just my briefs and tank top and taking it a step further by taking my top off to sun by the pool. I felt super comfortable around everybody and didn’t feel I would be judged. Seeing so many guys from every age, shape, size, color and sexual orientation just being carefree to be who they want to be, really helped me to open up and be a freer me. I didn’t get to make as many friends or talk with that many people as I would have liked, but that’s on me since I’m more on the shy side. Baby steps. I walked around in just my underwear, that’s a big enough step right there. I plan to visit a few more times this summer, so I’ll open up a bit more with each visit.
Every guest was super friendly, there were plenty of waves and hello’s in every area of the property I visited. The outdoor showers were very enjoyable and the indoor ones were just as good, both very clean as well. The pool area was relaxing. I just wish I had arrived earlier for the afternoon pool party, there were no more chairs or loungers…so I sat on the rock outside the gate haha, but I still enjoyed the music and being outside with everyone. Thank you for providing the free STI testing and Migdalia’s Kitchen made such a delicious breakfast bowl before I had to head back to reality. I booked Friday thru Sunday, since it’s a 2 night minimum stay, but I couldn’t check-in until Saturday due to prior commitments. I’ll definitely be sure on my future visits that my schedule allows me to check-in on Friday so I don’t miss out and get my money’s worth.
After reading some of the other reviews and noticed the negative comments, here’s what I have to say. Could there have been a bit more lighting at night, sure. But I still walked carefully and enjoyed walking the property under the night sky. Could there have been a “prettier” entrance, sure. But once you get thru the gate and past the RV’s, you’re greeted with a beautiful check-in area. The music playing after midnight did not bother me, because of where my campsite was in relation to where it was playing. You do not need a golf cart to get around the property, but there are many people that use them. I walked to everything I needed to get to and it was all within walking distance from my campsite, nothing is more than a 5 minute walk away. I read CampOut’s website inside and out AND reached out before booking, to ask questions and be sure I was understanding everything I read correctly. So I wasn’t shocked it was BYOB, I came prepared. I didn’t mind the $40 (talk about cheap!) membership fee for the entire summer, now I can come back anytime this summer and only have to worry about paying for the campsite booking or a day pass. I brought an entension cord like suggested, but ended up not using the power at my campsite nor did I use the water supply, so I can’t comment on those. I’m not a big camper, so I just have to remember for next time to bring a pad of some sort to lay under my sleeping bag because it was a rough sleep on the rocky ground. But that’s on me, you live and you learn.
It’s really a beautiful, safe place you’ve created and I’m sure it will continue to...
Read moreAllow me to start my giving my wholehearted recommendation to stay here. This place is in one word: magical. I booked 3 days and ended up staying 4 because I was enjoying myself so much. The property is absolutely beautiful for a campground, very clean and well maintained. One thing I immediately noticed was the lack of poison ivy. Despite being in the woods they are really on top of it and the small bit I brought to their attention was quickly dealt with. The sprawling property covers I believe they said 68 acres which is much larger then I was able to comprehend even being there, this campground is HUGE and just wonderful to wander around. While wandering I was frequently stopped by a fellow camper to have a chat, a cup of tea or a cold drink. Everyone was so wonderfully welcoming from the moment I pulled onto the property. My days were gentle and relaxing, breathing in the fresh mountain air and enjoying the sun while laying in the grass or hiking around the grounds. The evenings were serene and quiet around the campsite with millions of stars and hopping down around the bonfire. Lots of laughs were had, many stories shared and new friendships formed. On the day I was unfortunately heading back to reality I was stuck in paradise for a little bit longer while they were actively improving the front drive. I could really see all the love the staff and owner puts into this place and their efforts have not gone unnoticed. If my past stay is any indication of things to come, Camp Out is only beginning to shine in their now 2nd season. I've already booked a few more trips for this season and will be getting a seasonal site there for next year. The atmosphere and general vibe is very relaxed and friendly. I felt extremely comfortable even around people that would usually intimidate me with their looks. It really didn't matter what you looked like, we were all there to just be our true selves and enjoy existing in nature with each other; it really was a beautiful feeling. There was a spot for "evening activities" although not advertised or really talked about. It was there if it was needed, a relatively safe looking place to play. I really liked that there was a space, but that it wasn't really a focus on anyone's mind. It's not a really sexual minded campground at least from what I could tell and that took a lot of pressure off my mind. The bathrooms were spotless and I noticed someone cleaning quite often. The outdoor shower stalls are amazing. The hot water is a little bit of a learning curve but once I figured it out it was fantastic. The stalls are brand new and very spacious. Just enough to feel outside in nature but not so much that you feel like you're putting on a show. They really did a great job with the facilities so far, everything that could be was very clean and comfortable. If you've made it this far reading and haven't already started figuring out when you want to go, I have done something wrong in explaining how amazing this place is. I had the most amazing time here and would love for you to also experience the magic that...
