We called and spoke with Todd to inquire about an outdoor space for an engagement party, accommodating approximately 26 people. We were told that this was not a problem, and if we ordered from their menu the outdoor space would be free. However, as people began to arrive and we placed our orders, it became obvious that this was not at all the case due to significant understaffing. Our food orders were taken around 6:30 or 6:45, but the last order was not received until 9:12 p.m. One waitress was put on the entire group and it was only her third day on the job. No one came out to help her at all. Some people were unable to eat their meals, others received literally a bowl of lettuce which was called a salad. It was very clear that the kitchen was having major issues. We went throughout the night and tried to enjoy ourselves the best we could, many having to use the ladies room in the meantime. There were a total of three stalls one of which was taped closed. The other two which were accessible had seats that when you sat on them slid onto the floor seat and lid in all. Very little toilet paper was available as well. When the evening was over, and we asked to speak to the manager and his assistant, they were very rude, the manager, Todd even raising his voice to the bride to be. He called her cheap and said it was her fault because she didn't have it catered. He even went so far as to say that we weren't being charged for the band inside when we were outside and we had no prior knowledge that there was even going to be a band. I would never recommend this establishment for anything. It appears nice from the outside but in fact is very run down and not taken care of or...
Read moreLoved our stay. This place is a mix between a French castle, country manner, and ecletic hangout. Owner and his daughter, who owns the basement bar, are so nice. Bar was so nice and had a live band. Cauliflower crust pizza was awesome. Breakfast was delicious, and it was a nice touch that Todd asked when u wanted to eat. He accommodated us early. I can understand some of the other reviews that were not so glowing. If u are here to eat and are in a hurry, I could see this being a problem. They do not seem staffed for that. I would not let that stop me. Just go and relax. This is in such a beautiful part of Ohio, albeit in the middle of nowhere, which makes it so pretty. Stayed with my son when we were at an event at the Jefferson County Fair. I will be back with my wife and then again with friends for a motorcycle trip as the roads are...
Read moreWe needed a place to stay on short notice and were referred by a friend---how amazing this place is! We arrived quite late ; they waited for us and accommodated our mutual friend ---and I can truly say that it's one of the best B&B's experiences I've ever encountered.||||Even though we got lost (my fault---late at night), Todd (the host) was ready to greet us and kept the bar open---much-need libations and the tray of crudites right out of Europe's best.. We took a tour---I honestly wish I lived closer as everything I'd plan would be booked here in one of the two party venues.. Elegant---and fascinating---beyond belief. Also very reasonable.||||Our room was large, VERY CLEAN and comfortable. The breakfast was all home-made, specially crafted, and--again--exceptional. I'm happy to recommend Le Chateau personally to anyone who'd ask. ...
