While visiting, we twice walked up from the gondola elk camp drop off, via the rabbit run trail which is quite pretty, through the meadows to the Sierra loop which links to the summit trail. It took us about 90 minutes total with lots of stops for photographing the flowers and scenery. Wonderful views on the way up. Even more spectacular views from the elk camp summit. We also once walked down from the summit to snowmass base village. The area of the trail which is closed during moose/elk birthing is extremely pretty. For those who enjoy hiking, this is a must-do.
