Stayed 2 nights to attend a family funeral. Some staff were grievously rude. I overheard one employee mocking one of my cousins, who also was in town for the funeral. Another employee openly mocked me as I walked toward the elevator.
Additionally, the hotel was not current with technologies. My room had no USB ports for charging devices, so I had to purchase adapters from a local store. (I was told that NONE of the rooms have them.) The television had no options for logging into streaming services (e.g., Netflix), and there was no way to view the TV guide on screen. Thus, I had no way of knowing which channels played my preferred networks; I had to move through the channels one-by-one to find them.
Walls also were very thin. Both nights there, one neighbor who shared a wall with me talked on the phone for great lengths of time, and I easily could hear every word that he said. Then, one morning when in the breakfast room at 7:30 am, there were blood-curdling screams coming from the other side of the wall. Other patrons heard them, too, but when I asked the employee on breakfast duty about the screams, she denied hearing anything. The latter was strange and unsettling, and I almost called 911 about it when I went back to my room.
Finally, the AC system in the room was confusing. It was cold and I wanted to turn on the heat. The wall unit was unresponsive, though, as was the unit below the window. However, I noticed a plug and an external outlet on a cord below the window unit and decided that I’d risk it. When I connected the plug and the outlet, the window unit began to blow cold air, but the display didn’t light up, making it impossible to know how to adjust the settings. Fortunately, though, connecting the two also triggered the wall unit, which I finally was able to use to raise the room temp.
I’ll never stay at that particular...
Read moreWe were there for 3 days attending a country western dance festival. We left our room at 11:00 am on the first day we were there to go to the dance that started at noon. The housekeeping team was just outside our room at the room next to ours. They had obviously just passed our room but we had a do not disturb sign on the door because my wife and I were getting dressed. When we walked by the housekeeping team I told them that we were out of our room now and they said ok. When we returned later that afternoon they had not been to our room at all. Did not leave fresh towels, remove any trash or anything. I told the manager at the front desk and she said once housekeeping passes your room they will not return back to it. Once again, they were right next door!! Manager said we could pickup fresh towels when we returned that evening after the dance had ended for the day. I ask the manager what time did we need to be out of the room for housekeeping to stop in? She said housekeeping starts at 9:00 am. The next morning we were out of the room before 9:00 am. We returned after breakfast at around 10:30 but our room had not been touched again! Once again I informed the manager and she said they only do housekeeping on rooms every 3 days. Unacceptable!! I don’t believe the bed sheets need to be changed every day but maybe they would if they had gotten dirty somehow but how would you know if housekeeping didn’t at least check and they should at least pick up used towels and leave fresh ones. We have stayed at this hotel before but after this experience will not stay there again or next year when we attend the Western Swing Festival again....
Read moreAn army of field workers stayed that night and their huge trucks consumed the parking lot, with the larger trucks parked haphazardly in the field in the back that you own, when they should have been required to park in the back spaces with the larger/longer vehicles in the field in an orderly manner, leaving the spaces by the building for passenger vehicles. How about paving the field and marking spaces for larger/longer vehicles? There was also an 18-wheeler rig with no trailer that was parked across several spaces in the parking lot. We were towing a trailer and had to circle the area several times before we found an entrance to the field flat enough to prevent us scraping our tow hitch. There should at least be a sign. Thankfully, they were quiet when they left the next morning and didn't hit our truck and trailer in the process, but they left trash/beer cans strewn around where they parked. Also, your staff should not be eating the breakfast provided for guests and sitting in the dining area on their phones. It's a bad image. The eggs were overcooked, the sausage was greasy. Disgusting and unhealthy. How about bacon instead of high fat sausage. And why was someone cracking eggs in a pitcher towards the end of the breakfast schedule? For tomorrow's breakfast? Or was it for the staff? Let them eat at home or bring their own breakfast and eat in a separate area. Why should we pay for their breakfast? Finally, the pillows stunk. They smelled of sweat and fabric freshener. We've stayed there multiple times and this time was the worst. Your managers...
