This place is magic. The poolside vibe and scenic area is unbelievable! There is plenty of room with poolside seating and cantina for personal use. Outside offers pool, cantina, cornhole game, ping pong, and outdoor decor. The clubhouse is like going back in time! The antiques and pictures gave it an authentic touch that feels like home. A very comfortable place! Find the Guest Book and Sign it I would recommend business retreats or weddings and vacation and hikes. The staff were great, and locals that frequently visit here make it an easy choice to come back! Awesome people! Dog friendly and perfect for Kids and Adults alone. Romance my Boyz! This place has it! Twain harte town 5 min away has 9 hole golf, putt putt, restaurants, shops and a park perfect to spend the day. Sonora is not far at about 15 min or so. We ate at Emberz, Diamond Back, Pinocchios, The Villa and shopped Sonora and Made a visit to Black Oaks Casino. What a great area to visit!

Very low key resort with basic amenities and no on-site staff. There are 5-6 buildings, so you know there won’t be a ton of people there. The spa and pool were clean and refreshing. The clubhouse was a hodgepodge of couches, pool table, large TV, and bar area. There are no amenities in the bathroom except hand soap, so be sure to bring your own toiletries. GPS gave us bad directions, and ended up going the back way in. Look for the big Lazy Z sign in the front and you should be fine. Overall fairly quiet, but being that the rooms are so close to the pool area, we definitely could hear the kids screaming and crying. The pool and spa are on a timer and shut off around 10:15 pm. The rooms are basic and beds are somewhat firm. There is a small fridge and a sink, with a few dishes. There is no dish soap though (that I could find). This is approximately a 15-20 min drive to Sonora.

This place is very cool, the location, the pool and the cabins/cottages. but I'm sad to share that the cottage is probably infested with bedbugs :(. In the morning, after sleeping there, my husband began to feel very itchy in his neck, during the day he developed hives on his arms, neck and legs (we ended the night in an emergency room). and in the suitcase we found a bedbug, the suitcase was on the bed and on the cottage floor. It’s sad because the place it’s amazing, I would really like to go back, but after this I very much doubt that it will happen. Our cottage was #12, I can’t say if it’s the same situation in all the cottages.

Where do I start......I reserved the last room they had, cabin #5 Juniper...Of course it's the biggest cabin and there were only 2 of us but I really wanted to get away for the night...Booked it on Hotels.com for $324.00, I wish I never booked it...First off when you check in there is no one to greet you, there was a paper on the office door that has your name on it and tells you that your keys are in your cabin and that you can just go there...WTH? No one greeting you? Terrible customer service to start off with....The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, this is what the doctor ordered.....We decided to drive up to Twain Harte to the market to pick up dinner to cook since we have a kitchen and I thought it would be fun.......Let the nightmare begin...Spent $30.00 on Filet mignon and there were no steak knives, there was a dull bread knife which I had to use....I had a bottle of champagne so when I pulled out a few champagne glasses they were filthy, I mean gross....Dishes were dirty.....There couches are so outdated and dusty...Cob webs on the bar stools and windows...The wood on the front door is filthy, Upstairs toilet runs, stair rail was loose, smoke detectors not working, BEDS ARE OLD AND HORRIBLE (We tried all 4 and picked the best one), no blackout shades in bedrooms (Sun woke us up at 6:45am, I would of liked to sleep in)......Now it's morning and it gets better.....Picked up our clothes off the dresser and they were full of dust, I don't think anyone has dusted this place in months....Walked downstairs to find a cockroach on the kitchen floor and then we looked up and saw A FOOT AND A HALF CRACK IN THE CEILING....This is when I lost it and called the phone number that is left if there in an emergency, this was at 8:40am Sunday morning (I want to make sure I am not going to be charged for something that I did not do)....It went to message service and when I told her the lady what happened she put me on hold and transferred me to the owner of the resort.....The owner asks what is wrong and I told here there is a foot and a half big crack in the ceiling and her response was OKAY....What do you mean OKAY....How about is the crack big enough that anything fell on you? Is the crack big enough that someone could fall through from upstairs? I also mentioned that were are numerous problems with this cabin and her tone and attitude was TERRIBLE...I said you don't care about our issues and her response was, "It's Sunday morning at 8:45 am and I am laying in bed with my children"....WOW!!!!!...I don't give a crap if your laying in bed with your children I am a paying customer with some serious issues here and it was obvious she didn't want to deal with me because she is with her family.....Don't own a resort if your not going to be available 24/7 when a paying customer has issue with YOUR PROPERTY......From the time we got there until the time we left we did not see one worker/owner welcome us or say THANK YOU.....They just take your money and you never see them again.....AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN....I have posted a picture of the crack in the kitchen above the stove and as you can see it's a big crack and I don't know how stable or unstable it is.......Again, you...

This is a nice place to stay at if you’re looking to get away from the city for a bit. We stayed in Cabin and it was very accommodating for our group. The check in was smooth and the staff was always quick to respond. The cabin was located towards the back of the resort and surrounded by trees everywhere so there was a lot of privacy and it really made it feel like we were the only ones there. The only downside of this place is that the cable and wifi were down while we were there and there isn’t very much phone service so we could not use our phones or the TVs. Which isn’t so bad when you are at cabin but just something to keep in mind if you need to get work done. The reason for the 4 star rating instead of 5 is because we did find some areas that had crumbs on the floor that could have been cleaned a little better and some hairs were found on one of the beds. Nothing too bad but someone in our group complained about it a bit so I could not leave it out of this review. Overall the cabin was great and if we are ever in the area we will...

While in Twain Harte we stayed at the Lazy Z resort, We have stayed there many times in Different cabins. and it has been very nice. This time we stayed in a for lack of a better word right now we will call it a studio cabin, For the most part it was nice and cozy, The bed was very very comfortable . No Kitchen , just a Micro wave and a small Fridge, Nice and quite and in the trees. It did have a B.B.Q out side and a nice porch to sit on.. So why did I give it only an average rating? Two downsides, Lets start with the Bathroom and shower, kind of felt like one of those Motorhome things where you can do your business and shower at the same time, (The shower did have a door) but Small is an understatement. Now for the Farmer John issue, I wont get into the whole legend, but there is a friendly and mischievous spirit that roams the grounds , we think he was throwing Acorns on our tin roof all night, the first time we thought it was a gunshot, this kept going all night long making it a little tough to sleep. It really is a nice...
