Stephanie is very nice, so I feel bad writing a negative review, but I want to warn others. ||||I had to leave the inn at 10 PM on the very first night I was supposed to stay there; in other words, I didn't even make it one night, in very cold weather, and searched for a place to stay as it was too late to drive all the way home. ||||I don't feel comfortable with a couple of alarming things happening there. ||||The reason I left is that a permanent resident is living in the room next to the one I was put in (after booking a different room) and he is very sick and was literally hawking loogies, and coughing so loudly even two-five minutes that I couldn't work or have any chance of relaxing or sleeping. This is not cool. No one escapes the city for the mountains to be put into that situation. ||||It turns out he recently had COVID-19 or still has it or something, I don't know, but now, on top of not being able to work, which is why I was there, or sleep, and having to drive around in the dark to find a new place, I have to worry about getting covid. ||||It really sucks. ||||On the other side of me, the room I had carefully chosen, there is another "resident" who lives there. ||||So, I was put between a super sick person and another resident. ||It felt icky when I was told on the phone that I was moved because this room was nicer than the one I chose only to find out that someone is literally living in there. SIGH||||And, while Stephanie is great to chat with and was, again, very nice. ||There was a huge issue with the heat, which kept blasting in my room even when it was off. The heat vent is directly above the desk-workspace, so it made it hard to work, but I was prepared to deal with it until hours of hacking, coughing, and hawking loogies happened, which was like torture. ||||I went up there to relax and rejuvenate and to do some writing, only to be put in a really bad situation that the innkeeper had known about all along. ||||First of all, the room I originally requested should not be listed if someone lives in it. And no one should be put near anyone still coughing from a recent bought of COVID-19. ||||It's dangerous. ||||The noise was beyond inconsiderate. ||||I didn't even get a refund for the night I was there until 10 pm in a really bad situation, but did get a refund for the second night. ||||I got no sleep after having to drive around late at night, and then my trip up there was cut short and I had to drive home. ||||As well, the WiFi is sketchy at best.||||The only good thing about it was the massage with Sarah, but when I got the confirmation email when I booked, it was offered at $85, and then I was charged $95; that's frustrating. ||||Stephanie is a sweet lady who I enjoyed chatting with but the whole operation is so unorganized and unprofessional. It was like staying at a relatives. Uncomfortable in every possible way. There was no way to work or relax, and I was put into a dangerous situation being next to someone who either has COVID-which it seems he does with the level of coughing or maybe is possibly getting over it, but guests should not be put next to someone that sick, ever, for any reason. She claimed today after many emails from me, that he said that he just starting coughing--there is no way that is true a beginning cough isn't so loud that in the next room it's so loud it drowns out the television, ear buds, and or anything else. This person is sick and while I wish him the best and a speedy recovery, I don't want to be charged money to stay next to that. And I was lied to about why my room was switched from the one I booked. When I originally booked and I called to ask about adding the massage, someone else answered and I gave her two other room choices that were not sold out, so why I was put into that situation is beyond me. That never should have happened. ||||See below regarding the massage price. ||||Check in is from 3 pm on. Check out is 11 am. If you will be arriving later than 9 pm please call for late check in...

Great potential as a quality B & B, but was disappointed in many ways. Weren't greeted when we got there, felt like we were an intrusion instead of welcomed guests. Annoyed by the fact that we were shown to our room and the owner immediately removed the quilts as if to say they were just for show and we weren't to touch them. Should have quilts that are meant to be quilts on the bed. Our "private patio" was a sliding glass door (with no curtains) that opened to the asphalt driveway that others walked by. We would have loved to have utilized the hot tub had she told us there was one right outside our room a ways which we discovered the next morning. The restaurant we had looked forward to having dinner at for months was a disappointment as the owner/wine steward/cook took the evening off to be at his child's play which the B & B owner knew about but didn't tell us even though she knew we were going there for dinner. Also, they present themselves as having Wi-Fi but it didn't work for us and she offered no assistance at all. And last but not least, our breakfast was a real disappointment. Besides having to wait until 9:15 am (on a day when we would have loved an early arrival in Yosemite), the breakfast consisted of plain scrambled eggs (nothing added), a sausage, bread pudding and a fruit bowl of watermelon and bananas. We were expecting a breakfast to resemble what is presented on the website. Needless to say, we wrote to the owner about all these things and received back an obvious "basic form e-mail" without any concern for the shortcomings presented. Had we received some heartfelt concern and apology, I wouldn't be sharing this review, I would instead have felt that the owner listened and would make improvements to these areas and have her B & B live up to what is presented in...

Spent a Friday & Saturday the last weekend of August with friends. For the front Blue Room I was charged $538.60 which I thought was high but was available. The Blue Room has a view of parked cars & traffic on the highway.. I couldn’t use the patio because of the traffic noise . I spent the two nights trying to sleep with fingers in my ears. You also have front lighted walkway lights on all night so you have to pull the shades down so it’s not completely dark. There were only side curtains affixed with a safety pin. There was a fan in the room.||||There were 1 oz bottles of shampoo, conditioner & lotion. Wish there was a free water bottle. My friends thought the water from the faucet had sulphur in it. I also wish there was a kettle to boil water to make tea or coffee. The towels seemed worn & nothing was replaced or cleaned for the second day. There were 2 hanging robes.||||Coffee or hot water is available at 7:30 am in a carafe but we had to wait a few minutes. Breakfast with no selection was individually served at 8:30 am. Sat was cheese casserole. Sun. was sweet bread pudding casserole which I don’t like so I only ate the small fruit cup & was still hungry ||||The rooms I saw are all pretty inside. The rooms in the back are quieter with a nice view of trees. The lower back decks are very nice. You can hear traffic on the side deck. They do offer a free glass of wine at 5:00 pm. The owner & house keeper are very nice & helpful if you have a function. They will give you breakfast recipes if you ask. We had laughs at a dog stealing breakfast napkins off our laps.||||I believe there are some hiking trails behind the B&B but there’s no town or market...

The mccaffery house bed and breakfast was a beautiful place to stay. The rooms were decorated so lovely and the beds were heavenly to sleep. The breakfast each morning was exquisite. Stephanie the owner and host was warm and friendly. In fact when our group left early one morning to go to Yosemite National Park she had prepared a beautiful lunch breakfast for us since we were not going to be there to have her breakfast that morning. The breakfast was a treat never the same breakfast. I will definitely be going back to the Mccaffery house. You will love it when you stay there it's a beautiful relaxing place to stay. I got a massage and it was amazing. It definitely gets 5 stars from me
