My family and I are on our drive home from thousand trails campground right now and I decided to leave an honest review. The staff and the location of the campground was great! Thank you to Norma, Mark, and Levi, they were the best! But this place attracts a certain type of people. The RV side was quiet, but the tents side of the campground was horrible. If you’re used to camping in Yosemite Valley, don’t come here. The tent campers at thousand trails do not respect rules. They are loud literally all night and into the morning, they fish where they’re not supposed to (right where there are kids swimming), and they leave the restrooms horribly dirty. I mentioned the issues with the staff and they did their absolute best. They sent rangers out twice to quiet the campers, but it did not matter, the campers would get loud again. From music, to loud yelling, to pranks, to drunk people yelling while walking through campsites…. We hated our experience there. Wednesday night was quiet, Thursday night was ok, but Friday night and Saturday night, we barely had any sleep. On Friday night there were several parties happening with loud music and yelling until about 2am. On Saturday the music continued until about midnight, but then the pranks began where we heard yelling and air horns being used until 4:30am! We also heard car engines being revved as people yelled cheering! It was so bad. Our family was so sad that this campground ruined our yearly Yosemite trip. They need more staff to upkeep the bathrooms, the broken stuff in the recreation room, and to patrol the grounds all day, especially in the evening. We will absolutely NEVER...
Read moreWe booked in advance . When we showed up , our tent campsite was dirty tables moved around , we get it ! Some Campers have no etiquette , but maintenance at that campground is THE WORST !!!! . They have the laziest workers , when we asked why can’t they clean they said they were short staffed , yet you’d see the maintenance or so called rangers ( private workers not rangers at all ) not doing anything but sit in the golf cars , the bathrooms for the 3 days we stayed there NEVER GOT CLEANED , talking to a member of Thousands Trails who was there two days prior , he said it’s been like that .. that campground is like skid row .. DO NO STAY HERE . At 68 dollars a night and to be in those conditions, it unacceptable. And more and more people were coming in and they still didn’t clean . Also they don’t have rules as to how many can camp in a site. It’s a filthy , poorly maintained, unorganized, lazy ,careless staff Campground.. DO NOT RESERVE...
Read moreWe only stayed one night here in the RV spot. When we got there, someone was about to leave so we waited for them and got the spot. The river was right behind us so it was perfect spot and with shade. The RV spot had 50&30amp, water, and sewer hookup. There’s little room to park your truck/car but the spots are small. The power went out for about 2 hours while we were there at 8pm. We didn’t use the bathroom because we had it in the RV. There are many activities to do with the family. The place got busy toward the night and people were playing basketball, horseshoe, volleyball, biking, playground, and mini golf. There are pot holes and the ground isn’t even so drive slow. It was fun for us and we’ll visit again but for at...
