My fiancee and I had the great pleasure of staying here just last night. Ed and Tera were more than welcoming and friendly as we arrived.
When I originally reviewed the pictures of La Hacienda on the internet, I assumed they had a great photographer to make the place look good. I was pleasantly surprised to find that La Hacienda is as gorgeous in person as it is in their beautiful pictures. I'd go so far as to say it's even more beautiful in person where you can listen to the tunes, put your feet in the beautifully landscaped grass, and enjoy the location in its entirety.
There were a number of things to do to relax and enjoy your time. We chose to spend most of the evening outside as the weather was perfect. The pool is beautiful and held a very comfortable 86 degrees. Very refreshing at night. There's also a hot tub, sauna room, horse shoe pits, an outdoor bar, two grills (one charcoal, one propane), authentic wood-burning fireplace, and a rocking sound system to put you in the vacation mood.
Inside the house is impeccably decorated and tastefully themed. Tera's TexMex background really shows here and you couldn't get more authentic if you were at a casa on the Rio. Our room had an attached, private bathroom and a very comfy queen sized bed. There was also a new style flat screen TV to provide background noise while we lounged around in the room.
We took the opportunity to interact with the owners of the home for a while. While guests are free to explore the grounds on their own, it is worth getting to know this wonderful couple. They're incredibly friendly and will take the time to show you around the home.
We were greeted in the morning by the delicious smell of the machaca and potato/chorizo breakfast that our hosts had prepared for us. Food quality was top notch and it's obvious that these two know their stuff in the kitchen! There were also your usual coffees/teas, and our pre-feast appetizer consisted of a fresh fruit plate.
All in all, we had a blast getting to visit this beautiful home and spend time with its owners. I wouldn't hesitate one bit to recommend it to anyone, single traveler or couple, to stop by and enjoy all it has to offer. You can experience it as a romantic getaway with your partner or go on your own to escape everyday and wind-down. Our next trip will surely be a full weekend so we can take advantage of all of the home's features and tour the surrounding areas. Special note: the bed and breakfast is motorcycle friendly and the roads surrounding the property are excellent for two-up riding. Low traffic and nice back roads.
Thanks again to Ed and Tera for being so gracious and welcoming. This little one-night excursion was truly a wonderful...
Read moreThe prior reviews echo the excellent time I had at with my sisters during our short “getaway” at the Hacienda, in May 2017. I especially want to mention Mandy’s excellent cuisine. She had one vegetarian and two meat eaters to make happy and did it with style! Of course the menu is Spanish-themed, like the beautiful house and grounds, and it competed with dishes I’ve had from a native in-home chef, when visiting Acapulco. Just excellently seasoned, perfectly proportioned, and beautifully plated.
The pool is sumptuous, with plenty of comfortable seating, an outdoor kitchen, and a hideaway hot tub nearby. There’s a sauna that was not turned on (in May), but It looked cozy and clean. The grounds, which I understand are also kept up by the amazing Mandy, are just lovely. I’m a “plant person” so I noticed roses, nandina, gardenia, and lots of colorful annuals. Even the outer edges of the property (which is super private) are landscaped with lots of TLC.
If I had to offer a criticism, it would be that some of the quarters (like the shower in the suite) are a little dark. There is plenty of overhead lighting, but a few more room lamps would fix that up in a jiffy (but not in the shower, haha).
At the end of our visit, we were offered a tour of the proprietor’s “beer cave” where he brews his own beer! Sadly we were pressed for time and couldn’t take advantage, but this just gives us a reason to return in the future. Highly recommend...
Read moreHow can a location really have 21/21 5-star reviews? WE had to find out and now this makes it 22/22, only because Trip Advisor doesn't allow one to rate it higher. La Hacienda is a truly comfortable and convenient, unique retreat with outstanding and sincere hospitality from Tera and Ed who seem to intuitively know just the right amount of attention and assistance people want or need.. An easy 20 minute drive from Downtown Atlanta, we were amazed by the incredible authentic details- the indoor and outdoor craftsmanship are every equal to million-dollar retreats in Latin America. Modern, comfortable rooms with gorgeous and genuine latin décor and artwork. Spectacular sunny courtyard with mozaic fountain, entertain yourself with Hot Tub, Sauna, Ping-Pong, Putting green, or curl up in one of a half-dozen comfortable courtyard nooks with plush outdoor recliners and couches. The only hint that you're in the states are the surrounding Georgia pines that thoughtfully provide areas of shade when desired. Something for everyone- ||Breakfast was also very authentic and customized-, with snacks and beverages available during the day. Can't say enough about La Hacienda as a tremendous place for a weekend getaway, or luxurious band warm alternative to the downtown hotel scene. Count on...
