We had our small intimate wedding at South Mountain Inn. Without Kirsten (wedding manager), and Matt and Kedri(the owners) being so accommodating and helpful we couldn't have pulled off our event. We chose an early April date, knowing we could have hit-or-miss weather. And for our wedding day, we had a miss on the weather. The temperature dropped into the 40°'s with rain. Kirsten was able to help us secure a tent for what we planned as an outdoor venue ceremony. The tent was needed with having elderly family and little kids at the wedding. We were able to set up a small luncheon area inside after the ceremony while photographs were being taken to keep our guests warm. The accommodations were excellent and much appreciated. As far as the grounds/property, it is an amazing place. The rooms are elegant and functional. The temperature is self-controlled and the beds are amazing. The bathrooms are spacious, beautiful, and very clean. Matt is the groundskeeper of the property and he goes above and beyond during your stay. Kedri is an amazing cook. She can make such a different delicious breakfasts each day, and is always there to serve the guests. The property has great views for photos and has beautiful architecture inside and out. We enjoyed our time at the Inn and will be coming back for an anniversary or date weekend to enjoy the facilities hopefully with better weather. We thank you so much for our time there, it will be...

What an absolute treat!

Came here for a weekend getaway in the time of corona. This little bed and breakfast was the perfect location and had ample space for our party of 10 adults and 5 kids (all under 3 years old!)

The location was out in the boonies and very well secluded from high traffic. There is ample yard space for picnics, throwing the ball around, or to take a walk and explore the grounds.

We had booked this place via AirBnB for our whole party but technically each room can be booked individually if you're doing more of a couples getaway. The owners live on site in a separate house about a stones throw away and they were so pleasant as hosts! They were there every morning making the breakfasts and using proper precautions while doing set up and clean up. They also offered up items for a bon fire and s'mores as well as all the basic toiletries akin to a hotel (soap, towel, shampoo, etc.)

The stay was very comfortable and we all had ample access to bathrooms and the kitchen when balancing meals and the kids!

For all this, the price was very reasonable and love that there's great accommodations at this price point. So happy this place exists and hoping to come back soon for a...

Every detail of this bed and breakfast is elegant, thoughtful, and beautifully done. The rooms are gorgeously styled and designed like someone read my mind and anticipated every preference (robes! a full-length mirror! plenty of hangers!). ||The service is unmatched. Excellent communication before, during and after. The website and digital guide were both easy to navigate, with clear, helpful info. We were warmly greeted on arrival, offered fresh coffee in the afternoon and enjoyed sitting on the front porch taking in the incredible views. Morning coffee delivered to your door? Just text. One of my favorite touches.||And yes, there are even the most adorable miniature donkeys on the property—we couldn’t resist the short walk along the beautiful grounds to say hello.||By breakfast, I knew it would be chefs kiss - made with care and beautifully presented. So yummy!||If you’re someone who appreciates the special details, you’re going to love this place. One of the best stays we’ve ever had. Great location with restaurants galore. Hawk mountain not far, a highlight for sure.||Thank you, Matt and Kedri! We loved getting to chat and hope to...

My few photos do absolutely no justice to the beauty of this historic home. My wife and I loved our stay at the South Mountain Inn as an anniversary celebration. The owners , Matt and Kedri, are wonderful people who I truly hope all the success in their endeavor. Each room is cozy and welcoming. We typically stay in Gettysburg and this was by far a more comfortable experience. Our room had a beautiful view with a very comfortable bed, window seating, cable, wifi, fridge, microwave, and my wife's dream bathroom. She enjoyed a few baths in front of a tv mounted on the wall above the tub. Truly this was a great experience. Matt and Kedri were kind enough to offer a coffee tray at our room door first thing before a homemade meal they provided. I have severe allergies and they were more than happy to accommodate. We were so relaxed we were happy to stay in our room instead of spending the whole day out. The grounds are beautifully maintained and there is plenty to enjoy with a wrap around porch to sit on or a campfire to sit at. If you need a few nights to just get away, even if it is only 5 minutes down the road, this is your best bet!

South Mountain Inn is completely lovely- the hosts have done a wondeful job refurbishing this historic home which overlooks a peaceful Pennsylvania valley next to Amish country. I just spent a memorable weekend there with friends from college, staying up the Aerie Suite, so restful and refreshing. It couldn't have been nicer. We enjoyed the delightful view and well chosen furnishings, an artistic blend of antiques and modern updates, very comfortable beds, luxurious robes, great coffee, fresh cookies, (even gluten free options), and our two breakfasts were scrumptious, offering savory, sweet, and fresh fare, with even a great selection of books available. Honestly, it was the perfect place to get away for the weekend, I wish I could go again. I would love to meet the little donkey foal when it is born. Wernersville boasts a hip sushi restaurant, and Reading has fun shops. Best of all, we drove to the Brandywine Art Museum and Longwood Gardens. It was the perfect weekend. Google Maps doesn't direct one properly to the entrance, so keep driving up the hill until you see the blue entrance sign for the Inn.
