This place is a hidden gem thanks to the no signage on 88. You'd have to know the area or get a recommendation to camp here from someone local to find it. Its a beautiful camp ground that has a lake, that's filled with fish yearly. There is maybe 15-20 campsites that go quick so stop by early. It has a very narrow road heading down to the campsite so be careful with any truck or SUV. The best part is that it is dog friendly so I can take my Aussie with me as a companion! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a weekend away. If you by chance miss the open window and can't make it there in time to grab campsite. Read moreThe campground is really nice and right next to the lake. However when we got there, at sundown and sunrise, it was infested by mosquitoes. We had mosquito repellent (natural, without deet) but they didn't care, we literally got attacked by an army of them. By 8:30pm we had to go inside our tent because we couldn't take it anymore, at sunrise, same thing. We decided to cut it short and leave right at 7am. It's summer fun at its best. No motorized boats, but canoes and kayaks are welcome. It's about 7000 feet up in the serrias. Very beautiful. Parking is $10. Camping, I believe, was $18.
