Kirkwood Ski Summer Resort — Hotel in South Lake Tahoe

This is a good winter resort with nearby skiing and beautiful scenery. We went there in the summer with no skiing and so-so views. These are condos. There is no breakfast on the property in the summer nor any daily maid service. Our condo had a strange arrangement of a queen bed and bunk beds, leaving little room to move around and only one chair to sit on (tough for TV watching). Everything was clean, the windows opened for fresh air (no air conditioning), there were large, unused lobby spaces and fireplaces, the bathroom was adequate. The TV functioned. Staff was helpful and there was a clever, workable check-in for late arrivals. Parking is poor unless you want to park under the building. Quiet. Breakfast is available nearby (about 1/2 mile) on...

The best things about this hotel are the friendly front desk employees and the beauty of the Sierra! The surrounding mountains/snow are amazing, but many inns have the same spectacular view. The women at the desk were friendly, but did not have clear knowledge of the area, so were not too helpful in planning for daily road trips. They also were only available until 8:00 p,m, The rooms were average (and old; really worn wicker chairs, bedding, etc.) and for the price (with a discount I may add) were so overpriced with no additional amentities (breakfast, etc.).
