We got married at SaltWater Fields in late September and were able to take advantage of the rustic aesthetic and beautiful surroundings. We chose to have our wedding here because it initially fit the profile we were looking for; a barn, near the water, and could accommodate our guest count.
As you can see from the many 5-star reviews, SaltWater Fields is a great venue for many couples, but sadly we didn't have the same experience. Tina, the owner, kindly accommodated our site visits as we toured with different parents at different times. The issues largely came down to differing visions - Tina is understandably very proud of her venue and was hesitant about our design decisions, such as renting a tent for the dinner, additional tables and chairs, plates/flatware, and implementing additional lighting that aligned with our personal aesthetic and reflected our personalities. She firmly believed that a wedding planner and additional rentals were unnecessary, as she believed everything needed was already available on-site. Although we respected her perspective, it did not align with our vision.
Our biggest issue arose when our lighting and rental companies planned to make deliveries and installations the day before the wedding, following what our vendor team shared were standard industry practices. However, Tina initially pushed back and requested an additional day's payment for these services. Our planner was able to communicate with Tina that this was standard practice in this area and ultimately she chose to reverse this decision - yet continued to express displeasure while working with our vendor team. Additionally, we had planned on utilizing a tent for our dinner service due to the limited space in the barn when accommodating our 110 guests, along with a full band and dance floor. This was already discussed during our initial visit to SaltWater Fields. Despite this, Tina questioned our decision up until and during the installation to use a tent as she deemed it unnecessary.
Although everything worked out from our perspective in the end, ultimately, we were probably not the ideal couple for this venue. Tina is newer to the wedding industry which in itself is not an issue, but she was not open to suggestions from our experienced vendor team. When we visited SaltWater Fields, we were hoping for a blank slate to carry out our personal vision but this is not what this venue specializes in and was...
Read moreWe got married at SaltWater Fields on October 5, 2024 and the entire weekend was perfect! We had both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding at the barn and they could not have gone any better. From the beautiful decor and outdoor views to the amazing staff, SaltWater Fields has it all. We were able to save a lot of money because of their large inventory which was a major plus. We also hired Tina to be our coordinator and she was phenomenal! I cannot imagine what it would have been like without her help. She was around and available practically all day Friday and Saturday and having her to assist was a game changer. Everything went as scheduled and we had no delays, plus she is incredibly kind! My bridesmaids had planned to make breakfast the morning of but ran out of time, so Tina took over without anyone even asking to ensure we were all able to get something to eat the day of the wedding. She also handled our ceremony rehearsal which we were all very thankful for as we had no idea what we were doing. Our families and wedding party are so appreciative of all of her help, as well as Jimmy's and the rest of the SWF crew. You can see all of the hard work and dedication they put in to creating such a beautiful venue and it has paid off. We are still receiving comments about how great the wedding was, how much everyone loved the space and how kind the team was. I felt extremely calm the day of which I was not expecting, and I attribute that largely to all of the help we received. From setup to clean up to everything in between, there was always someone around ready to assist. I also recommend using their bar services with On the Rocks, they helped us choose a selection that our guests would enjoy and it required very little work on our end! We were also very thankful to have the guest house available to us. We were able to spend even more time with our friends who we don't get to see very often and it was the cherry on top of the already amazing weekend. I could go on and on, but overall, I highly recommend having your wedding or any event here!! It was an incredible experience from start to finish and I would not have changed a thing. Thank you Tina, Jimmy and the rest of the team for helping make this the best weekend of...
Read moreWe are just wrapping up our wedding weekend and when reflecting back on the experience, we couldn’t recommend the venue or Tina more! Her attention to detail and organization skills, while simultaneously being a wonderful, calming presence through what can be a stressful weekend were absolutely essential in making our wedding weekend the best weekend of our lives. Every detail - from the perfectly positioned mirrors in the bathrooms to the immaculate grounds outside, gentle and fun interactions with our young, enthusiastic nieces, and her nothing-but-professional conduct with all of our other vendors made us so grateful to have Tina coordinating our big day and a constant on-site presence the whole weekend. She truly went above and beyond time after time. As for the venue - our guests were blown away. The barn and the surrounding lawn, field and gardens are absolutely stunning. The perfect hybrid of elegant yet whimsical, and not one leaf out of line. The collection of antique furniture and touches Tina and Jimmy have acquired are boundless, and we found ourselves swapping out items we had purchased for things they already had on site! The guest house is an absolute blessing and worked out great for our wedding party to stay in. Having it so close to the venue and BNB (also great for more wedding party) fostered some great late night bonding sessions with friends from both sides of the aisle and was so convenient for day of set up (our groom and groomsmen actually ended up getting ready there). All in all - jump on this gem as soon as possible. We were hard pressed to find a single negative thing to say about Tina, Jimmy, the rest of their staff or the...
