Like most people who have endured all that 2020 imposed upon us, I desperately wanted to escape to a place of calmness and peace where I could reconnect with nature and recharge my emotional batteries. Tanglewood Farm Bed and Breakfast provided exactly the environment to make that possible. It’s a beautiful working horse farm in the equally beautiful Sandhills area of North Carolina where folks who have horses can bring their horses, and those who don’t can simply enjoy being around them. I enjoyed watching the chickens wandering around and was glad, frankly, that because there’s only 3 apartments at this property, the chickens outnumbered the guests. The full kitchen allowed me to avoid the need to go to restaurants, and the super comfortable bed assured me of a wonderful night’s sleep every night. I look forward to returning to this bucolic setting as often as possible and I’m so grateful Lindsay and Denise have created this lovely bed and breakfast property that provides such a wonderful opportunity to escape the day-to-day stresses of life. There’s a wonderful local park just a short drive away where I enjoyed a 2-mile hike around the reservoir. Maybe next time I’ll coordinate my trip to include attending one of the frequent horse shows or treat myself to a visit to the Spa at Pinehurst at the...
Read moreWe just came back from 5 nights and stayed in the Horse & Hound suite. We brought two horses from Florida and could not have enjoyed our stay more. The paddock is right outside the back door. The barn is lovely and the stalls are spacious. Trailer parking was convenient. The Horse & Hound suite is fabulous - we could have stayed for much longer and been totally comfortable. It is everything you need. Super comfortable bed, great seating area, table & 4 chairs, full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. Lindsay is a fabulous host. My only regret is that we thought we would not be home on the weekend for the wonderful included breakfast, so cancelled it. A word of advice - take the breakfast!! We had friends that stayed in the Tally Ho Suite and they had breakfast. I was envious of how delicious it looked and they said it was divine! For equestrians, you can ride across May St to the main Walthour Moss Foundation. Incredible riding and miles of trails. You can also trailer to the north part which is just a quick trailer ride away. The husbands golfed at 4 different courses in Pinehurst and they loved them all. We enjoyed a few of the restaurants in both Pinehurst and Southern Pines - make advance reservations. They fill up fast. We will be going...
Read moreThis place is magical. We have a toddler and this is his favorite place to go for vacation. The free roaming chickens, the bunnies, the horses and the breakfast brought to your room by Lindsay are all just part of what makes this place so special. The breakfast alone is worthy of a stay. Lindsay is an incredible chef and hand makes all of the pastries and egg dishes (which the eggs are sourced right from the chickens that roam the property!) and each dish and tray she brings to the rooms is thoughtful - she adds flowers from the garden and a little note describing the food. Her pop tarts are to die for. The suites are spacious and beautifully decorated and are always incredibly clean. Downtown southern pines is a five minute drive or less down the street. The sunsets and sunrises here are also beautiful. You can’t ask for a better place to stay while in the southern pines/pinehurst area. We visit probably twice a year and every time we leave, my son cries because he doesn’t want. We always look forward to a...
