I am writing his review on the last night of our five day family vacation, because I want to make sure I do justice to this lovely setting. Our extended family of nine had more room than we needed, and were extremely comfortable, even if the weather did not exactly cooperate on this Labor Day weekend.||||Each of the five bedrooms had its own bathroom, and there were three hot tubs. There were also walk in showers for us shower lovers, plus a half bath just off the first of two kitchens. This kitchen, on the main floor had two large refrigerators, large counter space, with two double sinks. There were spices aplenty, stove, microwave and dishwasher, which did a great job on the huge dinner plates, a commercial coffee maker (with hot water) and plenty of silverware. Then downstairs, there was another complete kitchen! For three families, it was wonderful.||||The kids played in the pond, caught fish (catch and release) from the dock and the boats, used the swings, and played ping pong in the basement. ||||There is plenty of storage and there are nooks and comfy couches for reading and relaxing. There is literally NO traffic past the house, but keep in mind it is a drive to any groceries, so plan well. We had all divided the meals, and cooked every night on the large gas grill. ||||One unplanned benefit...there is no tv in the great room, so all the meals required conversation. There are televisions in the bedrooms, but they didn't get used much. The cable and the wifi are great. ||||The owner/operators are across the pond during the day, but at night, it is just you and the grapevines and sounds of nature. And, if you're too lazy to go the the winery for the live entertainment, just open the screened patio door, and listen from...
Read moreMy two sons and I stayed two nights at InnSpiration B&B, just north of Linn Grove. It is two years old, nicely appointed, and sits in a picturesque bend in the road with a great pond for swimming and boating behind. ||||The owners, Sheila and Paul, were great: warm, hospitable, informative, and charming. The breakfasts were great and we had quiet, restful nights. ||||Being a B&B owner, I'm fairly critical of places I stay. InnSpiration was clean, charming, comfortable and great value. Congratulations to Sheila and Paul for...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem tucked into Northwest Iowa. It is just outside of Linn Grove. It has a small, gorgeous lake. They have canoes, a paddle boat, and a floating deck in the middle of the lake. There is a fire pit and it is surrounded by gorgeous grape Vines. The place is well kept and clean. My only complaint is the cleaning fee is $50.00 when you have to take out your own trash and strip the bed. This place is exceptional and well...
