Spiritwood Resort — Hotel in Spiritwood Lake

We had reserved a primitive campsite, for the 4th of July weekend. The lifers out there threw parties, and their guest used our campsite as overflow parking. We also, couldn't keep people out of our designated area, to save our lives. The management there must've been off on a vacation of their own, because there was zero accountability. The vehicle pathways in and out were blocked by unpaying guests. So, we went and pitched our tents in a relative's backyard, once we were finally able to get the blockade..probably around 12-1am. Given all that happened, you might think that a refund would be in order..but no, if we would've even cancelled the reservation for the following night, we would've been charged an extra 15 dollars. We will likely never be back there, again. Only plus is the restaurant/bar, on site. This place used to be the best in the area..now, you're treated like a peasant for wanting to actually camp, in...

Depending on the time of the year there is good fishing. Spiritwood lake has walley, small mouth bass, northern, perch and Zander which is a European fish that is a lot like a walleye. Zanders are far and few between,but they can get as big as 16 pounds or larger faster than a walleye. It's spring fed year round with some run off but the water levels stay pretty much close to normal. They have a dock which is pretty nice and outdoor enclosed bathrooms. The cellphone coverage is not so good because it is lower than the terrain around it, but that keeps a lot of wind from blowing you off the water. There are a few spots to shore fish but you have better fishing from a boat. They have a bar and restaurant that's pretty good. They also have camping spots for camping trailers and tents. You should call ahead for camping space during the busy season. Just Google them for their phone number. I've never had a bad...

So I would really love to review the taco salad I ordered, but after 40 minutes waiting for a menu because the waiter "wasn't allowed to give out menus or take orders because the kitchen is backed up" (no really a solution) and another 20 minutes to take our order, then another 45 min waiting for food only to be told it would be at LEAST another 20 minutes before our food was ready, we just left. Even when Ted owned the place it took a long time to get food sometimes but we never left without eating, this was RIDICULOUS!! So beware, apparently if there are more than a few cars in the parking lot, just save yourself some time and go...
