There is a reason that all reviews on Google rate Ruby Mtn Heli Experience as 5.0 stars!
Staff: The attention to customer service is second to none. From timely email responses to exceptional customer service while you're there, you will be taken care of and pampered. Want a hot towel as you're returning to the lodge after a day of powder skiing? Someone will be waiting with one for you. Need a snack, there will be a nice one waiting for you on your return, as well as hors devours prior to dinner (Oysters Rockefeller, sushi, etc).
Skiing: We did 20 runs (paid for two extra) during our time and probably hit 10 or 11 different locations. A great variety of open terrain, semi-steeps, and some trees. We were glad to have snow cats as a 'plan b' for when it was too windy or low visibility for the helicopter which sets this outfit apart from others. Who wants to sit in a lodge looking at the mountains when you should be skiing in them?
Guides: The guides were great. Loved the personality of Aaron and Howie. They were very knowledgeable and very helpful when one of our crew had an injury that required a visit to the hospital and stitches. Joe (the owner) personally spent time to make sure our crew member was alright, spending hours with him at the hospital, and drove him back and forth the 40 minutes to Elko. Thanks Joe, you rock!
Comraderie: The overall feel is very communal with all 16 people eating breakfast and dinner together. Mike Royer and crew provide updates at breakfast on the day and cheers in the evening. We got the opportunity to meet and hang out with most guests which made for a great 'extra' experience.
Communication: Your first day you'll receive a ton of information about 'The Ruby Wrap' (IYKYK), avalanche safety, helicopter safety, and snow cat safety. It is a lot to take in but guides are patient when reminding you of things you forgot. On day 2 and day 3 our routine became easier to remember.
Food: The food was fantastic! Great breakfasts with eggs, avocado toast, eggs benedict, apple smoked sausage, fresh fruit, smoothies, yogurt, potatoes and a bunch more. For dinner we had rib eye, miso salmon, filet mignon, shrimp, and many other tasty bites.
Accommodations: The Ruby 360 lodge is cozy with fireplaces running (inside and out). We stayed in a 2-person room with 2 queen beds and a nice private bathroom & shower. There are games available for play as well. The 'common area' is a great place to meet new people and talk about your day on the slopes. The equipment provided is top-notch as well.
Summary: The people at Ruby Mtn Heli Experience care about you and your experience. They will do anything they can to make it top-notch. If you are looking for a heli experience that delicately balances time on the slopes with time eating, socializing, and being pampered, look no further. Highly recommended from our...

Let me start by saying, if you’ve ever dreamed of skiing untouched powder while feeling like a VIP, this is your spot! The skiing? Well, let’s just say it’s like carving through clouds of frozen joy. I haven’t seen this much white since my Bachelor party in Colorado!
Now, let’s talk about the food. I’d say it’s gourmet, but that would be an insult to the culinary masterpieces they serve up. It’s like having a Michelin-starred chef magically appear on the mountain, except instead of a white toque, they’re wearing a beanie. Pro tip: don’t skip breakfast. You’ll need that avocado toast waffles to fuel your ski ballet routine and those late nights in Elko
As for the energy, let’s just say it’s electric… when you’re not surrounded by all that serene mountain tranquility. The guides? They’re like ski ninjas, silently guiding you through the slopes while dropping wisdom nuggets like, ‘Remember, pizza before French fries, unless you want to end up in a spruce tree.’ And the staff? They’re the real MVPs, always there with a smile and a shot of tequilla when you need it most.
In summary, if you’re looking for a ski experience that’s equal parts exhilarating and hilarious, Heli Ski Ruby Mountains is your ticket to snowy paradise. Just be warned: you may never want to leave… and why would you.
They are the best Heli opp...
Read moreRuby Mountains Heli-Experience is absolutely incredible! This was my second visit for the 1-day package. Last year we had some weather challenges and a few hiccups with the Piston Bully backup, but Mike followed up with us to make sure we could come back, which showed exceptional customer care.
From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well taken care of. The lodge is cozy and clean. We relaxed in the hot tub, enjoyed wine by the fire, and loved staying in the same spacious room as before. The bedding is really soft & comfy. Breakfast and lunch were both delicious!
The helicopter and snowcat rides felt safe and fun, and the terrain is unreal—beautiful open runs and some fun, technical tree skiing too. It felt way more special than being in a resort.
The entire team, from the guides to the lodge staff, was incredibly warm, friendly, and professional. Daily orientations were clear and well-organized. I loved being greeted by Francy when we returned from skiing, then hot towels and appetizers waiting inside felt like such a luxurious touch. We also got to chat with Joe, who shared helpful travel tips for the next leg of our trip to the coast. I enjoyed learning story behind the operation. Truly a one-of-a-kind experience. I’ll definitely be back and would love to visit...
