Camp ground is ok. Not much privacy. You can see through the trees to the surrounding sites. Camps are close together. The camp host is really nice but totally not helpful when asking questions about the area. Was told to go find the phone number on the board. Wasn’t there. Had to find a deposit envelope and the number was just a recording. Most of the camp sites are for pull in trailers. Our campsite was next to the bathroom. Smelled sewer the whole time we were there. Read moreThe campground itself is fairly nice. Upper loop is more secluded. Lower loop is right by the road, BUT the road doesn't really go anywhere so traffic is non-existent. If you're into birding and are spending a few days at the NWR, this campground is PERFECT. If, like us, you're interested in exploring the area; this compound is a LONG way from anything. Read moreThis is a lovely campground with sites that are well spaced out. The sites all have a fire ring with a grill on top and a picnic table. The sites either have shade from the Junipers and Pinyon Pine or a great view of the valley. The vault bathrooms are very clean. The hosts, Joe and Nancy, are particularly outstanding!
