It's been years since I have been on Tripadvisor. So long that I signed back up just to review this place in hopes to "warn" others from coming here. I don't know the criteria for being considered a resort in Indiana but, it should be illegal for a place like this to call itself a resort. We have friends who are new to the area and when we came to visit them we decided to bring our camper and stay here so we wouldn't always be in their way and we all could enjoy this "resort". What a mistake. The place just has a gross feel to it. The people in the front office are a little creepy not to mention rude. The swimming beach/lake they have was OK but it was littered with cigarette buts and stunk. We walked into the indoor pool and immediately turned around. To me it reminded me of a pool in a scary movie or nightmare. You want to walk or ride your bikes around? No problem, you just have to avoid the golf carts that either have distracted teenagers, women who look yellow from years of drinking or smoking, or extras out of Deliverance driving them. We decided to take a nightly walk to see how the place was at night. It was much better because the grime and nastiness of the place was shrouded in darkness but we encountered many stumbling drunks and people who shouldn't be singing that were singing. We weren't sure, because we didn't get close enough, if the campground was having some kind of entertainment night but whatever it was it was loud and annoying. I'm all for fun but I kept thinking that it seemed pretty late to be doing this and what about the people that weren't interested in this but just wanted some peace and quiet. This place with it's dusty roads, fenced area full of old campers, and just overall trashiness is so far from what we expected when we saw the word resort in it's name I don't think words can fully...

Wow! This place is an absolute nightmare. The owners and the lady who works the front office are disrespectful, rude, and awful to deal with.|They accused us of dying our hair purple in the Shower house (but none of us have purple hair), accused us of taking our dogs into the Shower house (we didn't, but lots of the year round people do), said a man from our group was chasing golf carts and jumping on them (though they couldn't describe said man they 'knew he was from our group), and a few other crazy accusations that came with no proof.|Then, two weeks into the month we paid for, they threw us out |They refused to refund any of our money and seemed to enjoy throwing us out.|I heard from other campers that they do this a lot.|They single people out and throw them out with no real reason. |The old lady was rude to us the minute we checked in.|We called ahead and let them know we were coming, the man on the phone said there was lots of availability, when we went to check in, however, the old lady tried to say they didn't have any openings.|The old man checked us in and assigned us our spots.|After that, it was like she was looking for a reason to throw us out, when she couldn't find one, she made them up.||They are horrible people, and the campground is run down.|Most of the amenities are closed anyway due to disrepair and lack of staff.|The shower houses flood with dirty water so you have to walk through someone else's shower water to take your shower.||I recommend avoiding this one...

This is difficult because the staff are the friendliest but the kids driving golf carts are out of control making this a poor choice to stay.||There are lots of long term people staying at the park. As a result, MANY have golf carts. Both motorized and electric. Kids are driving carts constantly buzzing through camping loops creating constant noise and distraction for those wanting a quiet place after a long day of driving. The endless noise from kids driving aimlessly is intolerable.||The bathrooms and showers are spotless. No air conditioning makes the restrooms a miserable sauna. Nothing like soaking in sweat after visiting the restroom. ||The freeway borders one side of the park. Those unfortunate enough to be assigned a spot next to the freeway get to enjoy traffic noise all night.||Last of all, we were assigned to a low spot that floods when it rained. It rained. I am still suffering from the chigger bites from the short time sitting outdoors.||This is a pretty place with lots of shade trees but I will not stay again due to kids...

If i could give negative stars i would. We were there for 9 months. Wifi stopped working 2 months in and never worked again. There were open wires right by the playground... not to mention all the other boxes that had broken covers and wires sticking out. The pool was not open as advertised. Theres leeches in the swimming lake. And the water came out of my spigot looking like dirty lemonade (see pic) and did not pass inspection. You can call the health department yourself to find out. And theres nothing but drama drama drama from the permanant resident's and the office. The owner seems nice and likes kids but flies off the handle all the time yelling and insulting people. He also kicks people out at his whim-we saw him do it multiple times. Do not waste your money on this place. Wish we would have been warned before we went there.

I bet this place was nice in its hay day. Now not so much. Lacking in basic upkeep and maintenence. Pool shutdown, old tennis courts is now storage of junk. Basketball hoops aren't level. Beach is deteriorating and swimming area is basically a gross pond. Mini golf looked okay but shop was closed. Bathrooms were outdated and dirty. Campsite was a mud pit, water was not clean and clear, litter was basically everywhere. I filled a whole bag in a 5 min walk to my site. Needless to say its over priced $46/night and could use owners that actually care.

Right now an architect is meeting a client who sees what's happening in the camp ground sector and is ready to place a bet on a high end park project. I'm guessing more than one.. my point being soon there will competition for the aging pedestrian variety parks.. If you do some math this park is pulling down conservatively $5000 per/day. A qualified maintenance crew costs about $1200 / day. Over the course of one season the old depression facade could sparkle once more.
