First I will start by saying the Blackberry Blossom room is fabulous!! The pictures on the website instantly had us wanting to book that particular room. We stayed for 3 nights. The breakfast every morning was very healthy and favorable. The sun room is gorgeous. Filled with plants. We were able to just sit and enjoy quietly being we were the only ones booked there our entire stay. What was disappointing was after the first morning when we can back to the room I immediately noticed our bed was not made and the trash was not taken out. When I came out to ask her was there a trash nearby to take the trash out; her response was "out front is a bin you can take it." Then she further went to say, "there is a trash can by the front door, if there is anything in it could you please take it out and empty it out front." I had zero understanding or comprehension as to what I just heard come out her mouth. And it must have registered on my face cause then she says, "it's totally up to you." If that was not enough. We fill the hot tub up later that day only to find out it does not work.. The fireplace that would have been beautiful for a nice fall evening did not work either. For the price that they charge, one would assume everything is in working order. This was my second time staying at a B&B. The first time was at Maple Hill Manor (also in Springfield) with Ms Tina as the host. They do have a jacuzzi suite that actually worked and she offers a true genuine hospitality that has kept us in touch months after we left. They were already booked a month out prior to our visit, hence us having to stay elsewhere. **in response to your response. We did have a fabulous time, because that is our personality and who we are. It was never communicated to us that you will not Enter the room, it was never communicated to us prior to booking the room that the tub or fireplace was not working. And like I said previously. At the price being charged, this should always be full service unless the guest states otherwise. Thank you for your response and...
Read moreThe hosts are artists and it shows in their excellent interior design as well as their own works on display. There is quality furnishing, some very nice fabrics, and tasteful wallpapers. Very solid breakfast as well. A water bottle was provided in the room, and it was easy to find books about the area. Well-structured rule book including numerous local activities. In terms of improvements, bed sheets should be ironed (they were very wrinkled), the bathroom could do with a makeover (atrocious paint job, reversed hot/cold indicators, door bumping into the toilets...) and a few bits can be more professional (odd insistence on full payment upon arrival instead of check-out, should be given new toiletry items instead of using a large bottle with whatever previous guests left, shouldn't be using paper napkins and disposable placemats). I see plenty of potential and already a lot of efforts in the house, so with a bit more attention to details this place...
Read moreWe stopped and spent the night at Wildflower to split traveling on our to visit our oldest son in Alabama. Rich was a great host. My husband, son, and I enjoyed his stories that took us through his and Carol's Art careers. The home is well appointed with art work both created or collected. We enjoyed the outdoor patio, sitting by the pool in the evening. Rich set the mood to create one of relaxation, that the three of us enjoyed. When bugs came out, we retreated to the very ornate common room. Guests will find unique reading material such as Abraham Lincoln poems. Finally sliding into bed, guests find the best sheets ever, like a big cloud of dreams! In the morning I discovered great hair products and body soap. For people who are vegan, they were conscience of supplying all products to accommodate. Breakfast and chocolates tied the bow to a great stay. Thank you Rich for a great evening and morning! We wish you and Carol a great...
