Family fun with kids under 10 with meals and entertainment included.||||Upon arriving we appreciated having a list and times of events. The first night we enjoyed playing air hockey and loved making smores by toasting marshmallows over a fire and squishing them between keebler stripe cookies... a great new way of doing smores. ||||Breakfast the next morning was scheduled between 8 and 9. Upon arriving in the dining hall and finding our assigned seats we were brought french toast and bacon. Apples and bananas along with cereal and toast was also available as well as juice or milk and coffee. I wish instant oatmeal would also be available as an alternative. Day 2 was scrambled eggs with ham as well as biscuits and gravy. Day 3 was pamcakes and sausage.||||After breakfast, the kids liked playing on the playground equipment (swings, slides, teeter totters, rock digger, various climbing apparatus, and trampoline). My 3 year old loved the trampoline the best. We played billiards ($1) as well as Ms. PacMan ($.50) and the claw game for rubber ducky where everyone is a winner ($1). My 3 and 7 year olds and I enjoyed making poppers and targets during children programming time. They also liked the barrel train ride but wished it was longer. Afterwards, my 7 year old learned how to play Bocce Ball as well as shuffleboard and loves both. While there were planned tourneys, Bocce ball and shuffleboard equipment is always available for free as well as darts, archery, basketball, tether ball, and minigolf. ||||Lunch was super with salad, moschitoli, and garlic bread. (Food along with drinks were waiting at our assigned table at 12 sharp along with tea for the adults and koolaid for the kids. Afterwards, coconut cream pie was brought around for dessert. Day 2 was salad, chicken and dumplings, biscuits, peas/carrots and peach cobler for dessert. Again, delicious.||||Day 1 dinner was ok being an outside cookout with hotdogs, hamburgers, potato salad, beans, chips, and tea, water, or koolaid, but the choc cupcakes were delicious. Day 2 dinner was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and jello cake.||||Evening entertainment included horseracing for the whole family, bingo, dodgeball for adults, card playing for adults, talent show, etc. But, I have heard that this changes....lots of people have been coming since they were youngsters and now bring their own children or own grandchildren. We had never been here before and all of the guests were friendly and we all felt right welcome at right at home. Kids loved making new friends and playing games as well as drawing with chalk on the concrete while adults played in a shuffleboard or bocce ball tourney.||||A small souvenier shop as well as need supplies available for purchase such as bandaids, toothpaste, etc is onsite as well.. There is also a washer and dryer available on site for a fee but we never used it.||||Rafting, canoe, and tube trips are included with equipment and life jackets privided (sign up early) but a 2 hour trip is maybe too long for a 3 and 7 year old so I look forward to doing this maybe next year...I wish there was a shorter trip and I wish they had fishing equipment where people could check out the equipment to use at the river access point.||||The pool with waterslide is absolutely wonderfull!!!!! The slide was my 7 year olds favorite thing about the trip. However, you do need to bring life jackets for kids...1/3 is 3 ft deep 1/3 is 5 ft deep, 1/3 is 8 ft deep and there is no lifeguard. Tables with umbrellas, chairs, and loungers around the pool. The main building sells ice cream bars, ice, drinks, and other snacks if you get the munchies during times other than the included breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. (You can pay or charge it to ur cabin)||||Two things I would voice the need for reflection from the owners would be 1) to have chairs at the end of the river access trail for people to simply sit and watch the river and maybe sunsets and 2) to have a designated smoking area or smoking guidelines for outside common areas. People were smoking in the pool area, around kids outside, and around the entrance to the main building which made it difficult to avoid. Also, while the cabins are non-smoking, when people smoke in the screened in porches the smoke smell carries into the cabins such as in adjacent units of the Hilltop Cabin. Maybe interested parties should ask for individual cabins where walls are not shared between units to avoid the smoke smell coming in the cabin rooms??||||I would suggest that families bring swim towels, bath towels, and wash clothes from home. The towels in the bathroom are more like thin hand towels and only 1 is provided per person each day.||||We really enjoyed family time together and my kids cant wait to comeback. I would recommend this fir families with kids 10 and under most definetly! Thank you Lee (owner) and Cobblestone...
Read moreMy family booked a weekend stay here for a family reunion. Unfortunately for us this entire property was an accident waiting to happen for our almost 2 year old. All walkways around cabins are covered in tree roots and sharp rocks jutting out of the ground which inhibited allowing our child to walk anywhere without us having a death grip on his arm. ALL of the playground equipment was extremely outdated to the point that we were afraid he would get cut or worse on the rusting metal slides, etc. The kiddie pool is right near the adult pool with no barriers. As others have stated the putt putt course is a joke covered in gravel?! As we attempted to at least walk our toddler down to see the river my husband literally stepped on a baby copperhead snack that was laying at the entrance of the walking path. Another complaint considering this is a place that specializes in large groups and reunions is that all meals require you to sit at your designated family table which completely defeats the purpose of being able to socialize and visit with your relatives. My family sat at a corner table for every meal completely separated from the rest of our extended family which is something we could’ve just stayed home to do. The drink options were koolaid for the kids and unsweet tea in child sized cups for the adults. The food was not good, dried sliced chicken breasts the first night, and hamburgers dipped in bbq sauce with no buns on the next night. We opted to pick up food in town. The lodge area has several games, including pool, foosball, and shuffleboard. However they all cost money to play and several took our money and did not work. The cabins are furnished with the absolute bare minimum and do not offer a fridge or microwave which also made things difficult with a young child. We ended up leaving a day early bc we were so miserable. Overall this is most definitely a place for families with older children and those who don’t mind...
