Elysian Fields Park — Hotel in St. Stephen

Rented this for my wedding, the ac in this building does not work. There is an ac in the window that does not do anything to cool the venue down. The venue was dirty upon arrival and had to be cleaned up even though there was no event the night beforehand, they couldn’t have cleaned it up to have ready for us? The venue had no towels or anything in the bathroom to dry your hands with and no toilet paper. When attempting to reach someone from the venue we got no response. Id recommend spending the extra money to rent a different place and not have to worry about all this as I had to. Also police arrived at 8 pm saying they got noise complaints. The police came here to shut our party down twice despite the City of Hanahan ordinance which is at 10:00. They came at 8:00 and said our music was too loud and if we turn it down we were fine. We then proceeded to turn the music down then an hour later, the police came once again at 9:15 demanding us to shut our party down. We were then slapped with a 100 dollar fine. The cleaning equipment that was provided was inadequate. The broom was broken in half and was taped together with masking tape.The stove was dirty as well. Let me start with we made it a rough start on ourselves by not knowing the doors were already unlocked. That was 100%us. I was a little disappointed that we had to stand on chairs and cut down string and a piece of old plastic greenery from prior events. The venue even with the air on and the extra unit was very warm. I wish someone had maintained the front steps. There are weeds growing out of the cracks. There was a flimsy metal arch tied to the rail that we had to move. A piece of lattice work was falling down.
