Pine Hollow Ranch — Hotel in Star

We have never had a better experience! I wasn’t sure if I would be okay driving to Emmett weekly from boise, but after seeing my daughter ride the first day, I knew we had chosen the right place! The whimsical ambiance in the arena and outside are fun and reflect the loving and joyous family running Pine Hallow Ranch. I love that they don’t just put kids on horses and hope they don’t fall. Instead each week there is an education/learning activity, time on the horses (usually each child rides 3 horses at each class), crafts and/or a game, and a snack. The staff are constantly building relationships with the kids and building on top of each lesson, which builds the confidence and knowledge the kids have on and with the horses! The staff emphasize horse safety throughout each class and make my daughter know the horses are wonderful animals and need to be treated with respect at all times. One of the biggest surprises to me is how much is included in the saddle club membership... besides a weekly class, the kids have an optional chore day to learn what it really takes to take care of horses, they do all kinds of extra activities like outdoor parties and adventures, plus participation in the ranch’s various community activities throughout the year! We definitely feel like we get our monies worth here! We love our PHR family and look forward to coming every chance we get! Pine Hollow Ranch is absolutely amazing. I love every event they have. I've been out to their Christmas parties the last several years. I've done the mother's day tea parties! We've had my daughters birthday parties there! Now she's finally able to experience summer horse camp! The owners are always so helpful you will never see them without a smile on their faces! I can't even begin to explain the quality and breed lines of their horses. It's a family owned place and they welcome you with open arms and treat you just like family. Our next adventure is to join saddle club and horse back riding lessons! As we drove away from Pine Hollow Ranch my 9 year daughter said this experience was our best activity on our Idaho vacation! My 11 year old son agreed. It was a very fun experience for the whole family. Unlike a typical trail ride we learned about how to handle a horse and properly ride while having a lot of fun doing it. The horses were very well trained and Pistol showed us some unique tricks. The pig and goat even had some tricks to show off too.
