3 stars because this place can be special. This place reminds me of how beautiful Oregon used to be. However, a person pooped in front of the toilet of the bathroom and another talked about pooping behind it. Really?? Another toilet was out of commission for vandalism. Seriously?? It was a reminder that people really need to stop being so stupid. Also, the trash is ridiculous. If you can carry it in, you can carry it out. It's lighter too! And they have trash bins at the entrance that are hard to miss. I think this place is a perfect example of why Oregon parks are shut down. Can we continue to budget for such stupidity? My recommendations are: go early to find parking (Mondays are great), bring tp and hand sanitizer, bring sunscreen, bring lots of of water, floaties (that $6 is worth it) and something to eat. Also, lots of dogs so leash yours! :) Life jackets are a bonus and soooooooo many people asked to borrow ours. One last note, the water to breathtakingly...

Do yourself a favor and forget visiting this place.

While the natural beauty is outstanding and nothing short of five stars, the severe overcrowding, noise levels, and water park-like atmosphere has turned Three Pools into a cesspool.

More cons: horribly maintained gravel road to the area featuring potholes that could swallow a small car, rancid bathrooms, people using loud electric pumps to blow up floaties, tons of unattended children, and trash everywhere. No respect for personal space from the many families who set up camp in the few flat areas with huge tens, chairs, etc.

The state should consider instituting a lottery system to limit the amount of visitors, because the current set-up is only going to end badly for the environment if something...

The Pools are a solid 2 hours from Tigard but definitely worth the trip!

The last few miles are on windy gravel roads which sometimes have some deep potholes. So the last stretch slows things down.

And you want to make sure your shocks & struts are working!

It’s always been a popular destination both before and after the pandemic. But everyone is super-friendly and respects the social distancing guidelines.

Even in the Summer the water is cold but refreshing.

It’s like a little resort: crystal clear pools, a roaring waterfall, a beach area (with gravel not sand), and a large shallow wading area great for kids and well-behaved...

Loved the scenery and crystal clear water even if it was cold, great spot to sit back and relax, swim, dive in the deeper areas, and hike nearby the Opal Creek. It does get quite full in the summer so be there early as there is limited space and shade but other that it's unlike no other and a must see!

Not a 5 star because it's dirty. Incredibly beautiful place, but poorly maintained by the users. Lots of trash at the beach area and near the pools. The access to this area should be better controlled and law enforcement must be present.
