We visited the Stockbridge Country Inn in the Berkshires on August 24th with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Diane, the innkeeper, made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. She was incredibly thoughtful, even offering our dog, who wasn’t staying at the inn, a dish of water after our long drive. Diane also came through with a fantastic last-minute recommendation for a birthday dinner for 8 at a wonderful Italian restaurant during the busiest season. The Inn itself is full of charm. Each of the five rooms we booked had its own unique personality, and it was a delight to choose different rooms for the kids and family members. Our suite was impressively spacious, with a bathroom that was practically the size of a New York City apartment! The grounds are equally impressive. We took a lovely afternoon stroll before relaxing by the beautiful pool and garden area. There are many cozy spots around the Inn for guests to unwind—whether it’s curling up with a book, playing a board game, or simply taking in the spectacular foliage. Despite having a broad age range in our group, everyone adored their rooms, the luxurious bedding, and the thoughtfully stocked bathrooms—each even had a sewing kit! It truly felt like staying in an old English country home. Breakfast the next morning was just as memorable. We were seated in the elegant dining room and enjoyed a delightful spread that catered to all ages, from fussy teenagers to adults. Bacon, eggs, french toast, juice, muffins and healthy options for those who wanted it. I am definitely coming back for another stay, in the Fall. A fabulous discovery close to the city!

My wife and I stayed at Stockbridge Country Inn to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time in the Berkshires and although the villages in the area and the fall foliage everywhere were reason enough to be there, Diane and her crew made the vacation unforgettable. Our room was perfect and the entire house is like the quintessential New England country home. Super quaint and charming. Of course every bed and breakfast comes with breakfast. And Diane cooks up a great morning meal. Most of all, I really appreciated the entertaining conversations we enjoyed with Diane. We have fallen in love and will definitely be returning to Stockbridge Country Inn to celebrate the Holidays.

We enjoyed a lovely stay at this wonderfully maintained 1865 inn. Innkeeper Diane welcomed us with warm greetings, information about nearby attractions and the inn itself. The complimentary breakfast was extraordinary with multiple choices for every palate. We especially enjoyed the location, just minutes from Tanglewood, Chesterwood, The Norman Rockwell Museum and multiple hiking trails. We will definitely return for a relaxing Berkshires weekend again soon.

After a quick meet and greet from Diane, the owner, we were taken up two flights of stairs to our room. Immediately upon entering both my husband and I groaned when we saw the lack of room darkening shades or curtains to block out the morning light. Here we go again we thought.|Off to a hardware store to buy large black garbage bags and duct tape to cover the windows we went. What is it about Inns in Lenox, Massachusetts that do not have room darkening shades nor curtains to block out the morning light? This was the third Inn we have stayed in that had none. |The bathroom was not inside the room but a short walk down our private hall. While a free standing tub is quaint it is not easy hoisting yourself out of it. There was a walk in shower with two shower heads which would have been luxurious but neither one had a shower head that really worked. Lightbulbs were missing in the many lamps placed around the room. We kept moving lightbulbs from one lamp to another for adequate reading light. |If my husband or I went to the kitchen for ice we felt like we were intruding upon whatever Diane was doing instead of her being happy to provide. Perhaps water bottles in our room's refrigerator would have been a nice perk. |Breakfast was included with store bought muffins and pastries. A chef was available for limited hot entrees. |The pool was the highlight of our stay. It was at a perfect temperature and we had it to ourselves each time we went down to it. The little air conditioning units in the bedroom and bathroom worked surprisingly well. |Not being happy with the pillow firmness I asked Diane if she had any other pillows. |With a quick reply of no, when she walked away I looked in the hallway linen closet and lo and behold found the perfect pillow. |Upon our quick and early departure Diane told my husband that she noticed we like our room dark and that the Hilton Inn had very dark curtains. Without missing a beat Tom told her that yes, we are looking forward to going there and will give it a try.|A wonderful hotel will be finally renovated next summer that we have previously stayed in for many years and we are looking forward to spending a weekend there next summer during the Tanglewood season. The bathroom is not down a hall but within the room behind a closed door. Window treatments are...

Diane, the Inn's owner is an engaging, talkative and friendly person greeting her guests at check-in. The dining room staff were also very friendly. The location of this bed and breakfast is convenient, close to all the Berkshire attractions in Lenox, Stockbridge, Lee and surroundings. The entrance is very attractive decorated with seasonal plantings. ||I wish I could continue this review in a more positive light, however the cost of each night's stay for us was $600.- and I can't say that it was money well spent. While our room at the inn (the Ruffles) was clean and nicely decorated in a vintage theme, it offered nothing special that one would not get from other lower cost inns in the area. For example, no complimentary water bottles were provided in the rooms; a small touch but for the cost of the room, I would have expected more. The queen bed was very comfortable and had plenty of pillows and bedding. The windows lacked screens, but we did find an adjustable screen on the floor which we were able to use in one window to get fresh air into the room. All the public areas had very low lighting making these areas less than inviting to sit and read a book. The tabletops in those public rooms were dust covered. The main stairway was also very dark providing a less than safe climb to the 2nd floor where the guest rooms were located. The second-floor hallway was brighter through the addition of skylights. There is no help for taking suitcases up the stairs. The breakfast meal was nice, with offers of a variety of baked good, fresh fruit of the day, and a choice of two types of omelets, pancakes, bacon or sausage. The breakfast offerings changed from day to day and did not reflect all that is advertised on the website. Coffee was offered at 8:00 am and breakfast at 9:00. While this review expresses what we found disappointing in our stay, it has to be said that it was due mostly to the steep cost of our two-night stay which totaled $1,438. We did not feel the cost was equal to the product...
