I give 2 of my 3 stars to Alex, Bradley and Daniel. They are the true stars and the team. If I could give 3.5 stars overall, the .5 star would be for the wine. I forgot my wine list so as to provide an accurate number of wines available for tasting, but I did not find a red wine that stood out or was agreeable with my palate. However, our prepaid package included two bottles of wine so I selected a white wine and a blackberry infused cabernet that was ok. Had to make a selection. The rooms are nicely furnished but there is no in-room housekeeping service during multiple night reservations. Just a basket with replacement towels and drinks at your door. The ice in the bucket when you arrive is not replaced. You must ask for ice. Bring extra floor fans if you like your room cooler than the 72 degrees the building thermostat is set. The third of three stars is for the food. You don't have a menu choice. The evening meal was fair to good. Breakfast was good. Be sure to inform the team of allergies. They will accommodate. Don't expect to interact with the owners. We weren't warmly greeted by whom I thought was one of the owners. We were transferred to Daniel who greeted us and gave our orientation. Great job Daniel! Our daughter wished an owner a good morning the next day and received an aloof response. My wife experienced a similar aloof response when she returned a soda that had aspartame of which she is allergic. After that, didn't see the owner(s) for the rest of the three days and two nights. Gosh, located in a very small town in eastern Colorado, I've had better welcomes from managers of lesser hotels. Seriously, in the service industry? Repeat business is key to success. Not planning on visiting...
Read moreClaremont Inn is EXCEPTIONAL!! My husband and I absolutely loved our entire stay...from walking in and seeing the room where we'd be staying (and checked out the others if the doors were open), to selecting our wines for the 5:00 p.m. wine tasting/appetizers, on to dinner from there with the perfectly grilled steak by Brad, and the delicious asparagus and fresh salad from their garden -- and of course, wine! From there we sat out on the patio next to the fireplace relaxing and drinking our wine, chatting with other guests as the rain gently sprinkled down over our covered patio. We returned to our room and slept in the most comfortable bed with luxurious linens. The next morning, we had a fresh, hot, pot of coffee delivered to our door, while getting dressed for breakfast. Breakfast was raspberry stuffed French toast, scrambled eggs, chicken sausage links, etc. I asked Brad if I could move in... his response was 'of course, you'd just have to pay the nightly rate!' Well ok, that makes sense! I have to say, I likened our stay at Claremont to being on a cruise... just landlocked vs. on the water! And the wine...well that is exceptional as well, I loved DUO, my husband loved the ICE PRINCESS WINE. We will definitely be back, and plan to do so next time (soon!) with my sisters. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try. Only 155 miles from Denver...you will not be disappointed, worth every penny! Thanks, Claremont, for a most...
