Consider yourself warned! We stayed here six nights in August. I will start with the worst in case you get tired of reading. Came back to camp one night and someone had turned on our propane tank outside, and took the cap off of our water tank. As we don't know if they put anything into our water supply or not, we had to drain the water and use chemical sanitizers to ensure our safety. This cost us about $30 in lost propane and water tank cleansers, plus a few hours of our time. We told the lady in the office and she didn't care--said we should have told a different employee, whatever that means. And she certainly did not seem surprised to hear about it either.
If you don't know what "trailer trash" means, just visit this park. Not the majority, but quite a nice collection of filthy decades old trailers.
Park full of permanent residents, with the highlight being a bunch of teenagers that ride around on golf carts at night yelling profanities at each other. We were sitting outside talking with our neighbors, then these golf carts come flying by and the kids are screaming to each other including liberal sprinklings of the "f" word. Our neighbor complained, and said their rv club would never come there again--our neighbor came back furious as the lady in the office did not care. We figure the kids thought it was us so got us back.
The water pressure is so low at times you can not get a shower.
The water when filling the laundry machines just dribbles, so you need to bring a bucket to fill and dump in to get your laundry going. There is a sink in the laundry room with great pressure, so there is some other reason the water dribbles into the washers.
There is a neat sign at the front little booth with cigarette ads scrolling by in red letters.
There must be some relationship between the park and Blue Ridge Trailer supply. My husband asked about the closest RV store as we needed to buy a switch, and they told us in the office that Blue Ridge would come out and look at your RV for a $100 trip charge. He said that he just wanted to buy a switch, and they repeated that Blue Ridge would come out for $100. I think Blue Ridge is the closest RV store.
We have been full timers for four months now, and been RVers for four years, and have never stayed somewhere like this before. The facilities seemed dirty and rundown in general. The pool looked ok, but never saw anyone using it. Everyone has their own experience, but there are a few other choices in the area that I assume would have to be better and safer. It was one of the more expensive parks we have stayed in as well. I would not take children or grandchildren there unless you plan to supervise them...
Read moreGood location, the short term sites are a good size. The interaction with the office ladies was not good. We checked in and went to pay and was told we owed $65 more than what was quoted and written down as being owed. I mentioned it to the older lady that was helping us and she got very upset and raised her voice and said that the number of days was wrong and we owed more. I paid and after setting up I looked at our receipt and we were charged for 10 days and not the 9 we were staying.
I talked to Heather at the gate and she was very nice and said that Peggy could help us in the office the next day to get the extra night refunded. No problem, this happens and I wasn't overly worried about, just wanted the extra night refunded eventually. I went in the next day to talk to Peggy about the refund. She was quite short with me and said she already knew all about it and to just give her my card to refund. I wanted to discuss with her the possibility of extending our stay for about a month if that was possible. After some sighs and grunts and throwing up of hands she said they may have a spot. I told her I would know later in the day if I would need to extend and would get back her and we could wait on the refund till then.
We decided that after the interaction with both Peggy and the other office lady that we would not extend, we felt unwelcome and a burden. I went back to the office to tell Peggy we would not be extending and would like the refund of the extra day they charged us. While I was in the office she was all chatty and laughing with the full timers from the park that were in the office but when it came time for me to talk to her she was blunt and rude. I had to give her my card and also asked if I could purchase propane. She grunted and sighed again, acting like I was asking for a miracle. After the refund was processed and propane was purchased, she threw my card at me and told me to sign the receipts and go outside to wait for the person to help me with the propane.
After being treated that way, we decided to leave early, and it was just a terrible experience. We will not be going back. So just a heads up that you may encounter some not so nice individuals...
Read moreThis is a low key, humble campground. There are full timers, seasonal and dailies. The owners and staff are wonderful and very friendly. They have a boat playground for the kids and nice decent pools. There is no fenced doggie run but they have a huge field ground to play for campers and for your furry friends to play. They also have tiny store for some emergency needs. They only have 1 rental cabin. There us no bathroom in the cabin so you need to use the bathhouse and you need to bring your own bedding. They also offer propane tanks refill for a very reasonable prize. Nice bathhouse in the front of the campground. Best of all, this campground is close to everything the Poconos can offer. From shopping, skiing, dining, hiking, boating you name it. And yes, in case of an emergency, St. Luke's hospital is 3 mins away. So check it out and have fun!!! God...
