What a relaxing and welcoming environment. We will definitely be back and are recommending Penmerryl Farm to as many friends as possible. Breakfast alone is worth the return. I commented how good the coffee was and the detail Blair gave on what was done to make it taste so good really showed how important our satisfaction is to the wonderful team there. The sheets smelled very good. The towels were thick and absorbent. I did not care there was no TV as I enjoyed being outside with no need for a TV. Check in was so accommodating. Our name was on the board and our key was in the door. We commented how great this is for people who still cannot travel due to autoimmune issues. You don’t have to be in an office checking in or traveling through a hall to your room. And the long entrance driveway makes it so peaceful. We loved the restaurant recommendation (written on the board near our room assignment). We ate, road our motorcycles back, walked around and petted the horses, enjoyed the visiting dogs playing in the great dog run and then enjoyed meeting several other guests who were roasting marshmallows at the spacious covered fire pit. We stayed for hours talking with everyone. One guest asked what time was breakfast and what happened if he missed it. Blair promised him if he didn’t see him at breakfast, he would make a plate and deliver it to his room. Everyone, from the owners to each staff member met, made it their mission to see that you enjoyed your stay. All you had to do was mention you wanted to hike or fish or ride dirt or pavement and recommendations were plentiful to ensure you had a great time. If you get a chance to talk to the owners, you will learn a lot and truly enjoy their company. Ask about the 70 motorcycles that used to be in the barn, or 7 years living on a sailboat or horse jumping or how to make the amazing breakfast. I can’t...
Read morePenmerryl made my dream wedding a reality. From day one, Laura and Blair (the owners) were deeply involved in the planning process and made us feel completely supported. They are the definition of excellence—professional, warm, caring, generous, and incredibly welcoming.
I always knew I wanted a true weekend-style wedding, where our friends and family could stay on-site and celebrate together. When I began searching for venues in Virginia, Penmerryl was the very first to reach out. Laura went above and beyond, answering every question, call, and text with genuine care and unwavering dedication.
The hospitality here is unmatched. The breakfast they served was phenomenal, and the attention and care they gave, not just to the venue, but to every single guest staying on-site was truly remarkable. They welcomed us to visit the property numerous times to scout ceremony and reception locations, plan tent layouts, and even help with wedding prep.
The breathtaking views, combined with the owners’ kindness and dedication, made our wedding more magical than we ever imagined. I cannot thank Laura and Blair enough for everything they did to make our dream day come true. Penmerryl is a venue unlike any other, and I couldn’t recommend it...
Read moreThe folks at Penmerryl Farm did a STELLAR job of hosting our group of motorcyclists (30+ riders) this past weekend. We get together every year for the last 30+ years and Penmerryl Farm merits a return visit. Wonderful location, great facilities and owners and staff that just bent over backwards time and again to make sure we had everything we needed for a successful gathering. The breakfasts they provided were delicious. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Parking was right there at our rooms. For motorcyclists, there is a full moto shop on sight with an experienced moto mechanic if you need the help.
We hosted two dinners in their Tavern. Great space with a full kitchen, pool table, card table, comfy couches and a tv/stereo. There's a pavilion with a grill if you prefer to cook outside (which we did one night).
The local area is absolutely beautiful and offers some really great roads for motorcycling. We had one couple show up in their Miata for the weekend and they had a great time driving the area as well.
Small towns with cute shops and delicious food within easy reach. Slightly larger towns with all the amenities you might need (grocery store, hardware store, etc.) right...
