My wife and I were burned out on wedding planning and the emotions of the big day, and wanted a relaxing, nature-oriented honeymoon. She hasn't been to Shenandoah yet and I went camping there a year ago. We wanted to see the beautiful area without tent-camping it, so we looked for B&Bs in the area. Steeles Tavern Manor was highly rated, deservedly so, so we booked -- and we couldn't have been happier.
Right away upon arrival, the Manor was well-lit, beautiful, and easy to navigate. We entered the door and were greeted by Dana who gave us a warm welcome and quick tour. The cleanliness and beauty of the Manor were easy to see, and the Ring/lock system on the doors made us feel quickly at ease.
I find myself sensitive to energies of new places, and have a hard time sleeping if things seem off. However, staying at the Manor quickly put my mind at rest, and I slept soundly and securely through each of the three nights we stayed.
The rooms were clean, Smart TVs were nice, complimentary cookies and robes were a delightful touch.
The breakfasts each morning were delicious and full of whole foods from local areas. Trey's espresso-making skills were a welcome treat at the end of the breakfasts.
We booked a couples massage that was my first, and my wife's best she's had. You could tell beyond it being a professional service, the masseuses' really wanted their client to feel relaxed and blissful. Very much recommend the essential oils too.
Also, Trey's Bourbon tasting experience was fun, delicious, and fascinating to any connoisseur. His knowledge is deep and he teaches you how to properly drink Bourbon, and what notes and scents to look for. I don't think I'll ever drink a glass of Bourbon the same -- and for good reason.
Overall, can't recommend this place enough. Clean, secure, polite and gracious hosts, incredible food, wonderful add-ons, and peaceful experience. If we ever are back in the area, this will for sure be on our radar.

Read moreEverything from the check in process to the check out process was flawless. Dana was such a lovely, personable hostess. We stayed in the Treetop Cabin and enjoyed every single moment. The entire space was pristine clean and made us very comfortable. The cabin is very modern and simple. The hot tub was extremely clean and sanitized. I cannot stress enough the cleanliness of the entire space, both outdoor and indoor. The outdoor shower was so nice. I cannot wait for our next getaway. Dana's customer service was top tier, we felt safe and comfortable on the grounds of Steels Tavern..we also enjoyed the smores package! They were so attentive and prompt with every call and request. The grounds themselves are very serene and peaceful and quiet. While we didn't get in the pool, I did go and see it and its extremely well maintained snd CLEAN..we just spent our whole time basically in the hot tub. There is a dollar store and gas stations as soon as you get off the freeway..I got food catered to bring with us but forgot a few things so it was nice to not have to drive too far.
I want to say this because I feel it is important and needs to be said for black folks looking to still enjoy the rural parts of the US in spite of our political climate..my wife and I are black women. We are all living in very scary times, feeling safe is a top priority. This cabin is located in a VERY RURAL part of VA and you're going to see some yard signs on the ride there that will bring up some very uncomfortable feelings..when I was searching for a cabin getaway, these sort of things are things you must consider..your safety is important..how people treat you is important..I would absolutely come back to this property. I would absolutely support this business and recommend it to all of my friends. Thank you Dana and Trey for a top...
Read moreMy husband and I just spent a wonderful anniversary at Pond View Cabin, and will absolutely be recommending Steeles Tavern Manor to our friends and family! We were traveling during COVID restrictions, so going somewhere that we felt comfortable and safe was of the upmost importance. Not only was the cabin incredibly clean, but if we had chosen to, we could have been completely isolated and not come in contact with a soul - perfect vacation for the pandemic! We saw Dana twice - the first time was for a chair massage out on our back deck, which was incredible (and felt very safe), and the second was when we stopped by the main house to say good-bye and gush about what a great time we'd had. The cabin itself is perfect for a romantic couple's getaway, and we loved having the kitchen so we could be on our own schedule for breakfast, etc. The views from the back porch are just dreamy, and the only downside about the hot tub is we wanted to stay in it forever! Walking around the grounds was relaxing, and I loved having access to the pool 24/7. In addition, having such quick access to the cute towns of Lexington and Staunton meant that when we wanted to venture off site, it was easy to do so. We took advantage of Hull's Drive-In in Lexington for a Friday night movie, and the American Shakespeare Center for an outdoor performance on Saturday. We didn't even have time to make it to any of the local wineries or trails nearby, so another visit is in order. I loved being able to support such wonderful Innkeepers - Dana and Trey deserve to have lots...
