The whole place is beautiful. We stayed with my wife's family and our two young kids, 3yo and 6yo. Their cousins are 1 and 4. We didn't get much time to fish--spent most of our time in the wonderful Garden House, in which all five bedrooms have their own full (or 3/4) bath. The bedding is high-quality and the place is well kept--easy to enjoy and relax. We did walk the grounds quite alot. The kids loved looking for fish and caught a couple, but the highlight of the trip by far was when our host, Tom, spotted us on our way to walk down the hatchery raceway and paused his chores to pour out 2 or 3 gallons of feed pellets for us and show the kids how to feed the trout. Overall, the staff couldn't have been more courteous, the facilities could not have suited us better. It was a perfect weekend for our large family.

Westover Farms has provided lodging for the Missouri Reel Recovery retreat for 8 years. We are a group of 22 and stay in 5- cabins and use the Conference Center for catered meals. Every stay for our group has been fantastic! The cabins are sparkling clean. the grounds are well manicured, and Lisa and Tom are the perfect hosts. If we have some special request, they are quick to accommodate. I have stayed in The Inn on an individual basis and again the stay was perfect. I highly recommend Westover Farms for an escape in a serene, relaxing setting.

If you're passionate about fly fishing for trout, this is the perfect serene setting to hone your skills. I was thoroughly impressed by our instructor, Noah, whose enthusiasm for fishing is truly contagious. For newcomers, I highly recommend starting with a lesson from him to familiarize yourself with the property. But if you really want to master the art of fishing—understanding how to think and act like a fish to outsmart them—Noah is your go-to guide. His insights and techniques are invaluable for anyone serious about fishing.

We planned a 3 night stay at Westover Farms beginning Monday, August 10th with our 2 grandchildren. We were there about 1 hour and went home because of the way we were treated. It began with a young man (Marty I think) meeting us at the parking lot and announcing, after we said hi, that he would not show us anything until we signed a liability waiver. He was arrogant and rude from the beginning and continued that way during our brief stay. That waiver was not a requirement or even mentioned in the confirmation email we received from them nor was the requirement of signing it mentioned on the website at the time we made the reservation. The liability waiver sought to waive Westover Farms responsibility even if someone is hurt because of the Farms' negligence. Although that waiver was outrageous, because we had two young kids and were looking forward to the trip, we signed it.

Marty then let us in the cottage we had rented, but immediately left to take care of some fisherman without showing us around our cottage or the farm. When we finally found him again and asked for our 4 fishing rods, he said the fishing instructor we had hired on our own should provide them. When I reminded him that we were told that the rods came with the rental of the cottage, he eventually relented, not pleasantly however, found a piece of paper that said we were to get only 2 rods and wanted us to sign another waiver. Again he was arrogant and rude, but eventually had us follow him to another place where he then thrust four rods toward us in an unpleasant manner. All of this took place in front of our 8 and 11 year old grandsons. Since he told us that he would be in charge of our stay until Lisa returned on Wednesday and there was no one else to appeal to we decided to leave and drive the two hours home. His attitude when we said that were were leaving was basically good riddance.

We have traveled to many places and rented many homes over the last 50 years and never been treated this way and have never left a place like we did here. Although it spoiled our 3 days, even our grandchildren decided they did not want to stay given how Marty treated us. I suspect, but do not know, that they or he may have been upset because we cancelled (in advance) their $150 hour fishing instructor (who may have been Marty) and instead hired our own at $40 per hour. Whatever the reason, however, it was unprofessional. We will never go...

We were so surprised at how wonderful Westover farms was. I had never heard of it and was looking for something to do last minute last weekend. A friend recommended it since she knew I wanted to do something outdoors to enjoy the weather. It was truly a hidden gem. I felt like we were in a scene from little house on the prairie or something. Old historic homes and log cabins. Beautiful landscaping, creeks, and little waterfalls everywhere. Our room was so clean, spacious and cozy. You could take 20 steps off the back porch of anywhere on property and find a place to fish too! It was so pretty and convenient. The water was super clear- you could see fish everywhere. It’s not as easy to catch them as you’d think but The staff couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating to help us learn! We took fly fishing lessons and Boot was so patient with us even though we got stuck in the trees a million times! The next morning when we ventured out on our own Tom came out to check on us find us to make sure that my family caught fish before we left! It was so nice! They helped us a ton! My 9 year old loved it! Will...

Very beautiful, lots of springs. The caretaker is a bit quirky and even came speeding up to us in his truck and told us we were on cameras and unraveled and sprayed a huge hose on a fire we had just started (that was loaded up as if to use) in the outdoor fireplace while we were in the middle of trying to cook our dinner on a public grill by the fly shop! After us apologizing over and over for lighting a fire in the outdoor fireplace (which anyone would assume that is what it's used for), he proceeded to tell us he guessed he should have signs on everything. That made us really uncomfortable and we didn't want to walk around anymore outside of our room after that. We were almost the only guests in the entire place... That was the first time I've ever seen anyone spraying a fire in an outdoor fire place with a hose, very strange and a bit over the top. Other than that incident and not catching any fish, it was a...
