Echo Canyon Spa Resort — Hotel in Sulphur

Loved it! We came in mid afternoon on Saturday for a night away from the hustle and bustle of Dallas. The location is near a state park down a good road and not far from 35 (and some great fried pies right of the exit, for another review elsewhere). It is pretty easy to find and GPS does get you there if you look for the Spa. As soon as we got there Carol greeted us and showed us where electric car charging is. She gave a quick tour of the property and the spa services available. She is incredibly friendly and warm. When we got into the room, the TV was on with romantic music playing, a candle lit, and the lighting low but tasteful. The bed is great with a very fluffy comforter and a very soft blanket on top. They have hundreds of channels including dozens of music channels. We were immediately impressed Dinner was a 3 course mean with a steak (I'm not great at types of steak but it was cooked well and quite tasty), duck breast in a sauce made from local berries, champagne cocktail, fresh halibut, a baked potato and green beans. It was delicious. The only thing I would say is that it is a lot of food, and not something you want to stop eating. As they give you a salad and a dessert, they could get away with less and still be very satisfying. The next morning we had massages scheduled, and I highly recommend the hot stones. Both massueses were very professional and we left in a satisfied daze that lasted all day. Afterward we had breakfast, which was solid (though not as fancy as dinner) and read in the bar area before reluctantly leaving. Checkout was flexible and not rushed at all. We did use the hot tub, which is small and a little loud, but its great for a couple. I could go on;suffice it to say I would return here regularly and I was very impressed. If I could give this place 10 Stars I would. My husband's scheduled for the weekend before Valentine's Day with last minute notice Carol set us up in the Lady Jane Cottage and took care of everything scheduled a massage for myself the next morning and a facial that evening we got up went to breakfast which was five star The View was amazing with all the beautiful birds the soft snow flurries outside they're homemade blackberry juice was better than the orange juice which was store-bought they told us about the snack room being free of charge and we could also have seconds on breakfast if we wanted more. Our cabin was perfect she provided us with roses and chocolate covered strawberries per my husband's request. She took care of every detail when I arrived from my massage there was a wonderful gift shop where I bought a nice fuzzy warm robe my masseuse was amazing and was very aware of my comfort being the most important aspect of the massage. When I came back for my facial the attention to detail these people pay is outstanding. The property is beautifully decorated with class and luxury in mind I highly recommend this place for weddings anniversaries honeymoons or just weekend getaways for the two of you. When it came time for dinner we were escorted to our table which was beautifully sat our view was breathtaking of the water feature outside the windows with the moon just coming up over the trees. They had dinner preset so there were no choices to be made no decisions to be had it was just a wonderful meal. More than we could eat from the salad to the main course to the dessert everything was delicious. We followed dinner with a visit to the bar where we were graciously greeted offered a multitude of beverages anything you wanted they had it. WOW!!! What an AMAZING place, wish we would hav had more time. This is where u wanna come 2 get away n relax. AMAZING experience all the way: service is mind blowing, Carol meet us in the parking lot b4 we got out of the car... then gave a tour of the manor where u can hangout n read about tge history of Sulphur, enjoy the beautiful view of Echo Canyon. Dinner was so AMAZING as well, the salad, the fresh hot bread with homemade pesto WOW pesto so AMAZING! !! Then the filet was so tender n cooked perfectly to order, the duck was very delicious we never had it b4 here n both of us LOVE IT! The halibut was delicious as well, my hubby usually had 2 have tarted for his fish but this one nope. The twice baked potato was so delicious. Oh the peach drink they serve with fresh peaches from the property Mmmmmmm so delicious! !! My taste buds were going crazy from all the AMAZING flavors. We will b back very soon, such a Gr8 get away. Oh yeah the room.... WOW so perfectly relaxing everything u need n more in ur room , very relaxing, beautiful furniture, extremely comfy bed, I want 2 take it home with me! The shower has Gr8 pressure for washin my thick hair! Oh the mineral water hot tub... so relaxing, WOW! I just wanna move in here... LOL. Its so heavenly here. We did get to try the spa services but I tell u we will next time 4 sure get a couples massage!!! WOW, I don't think I've ever left such a long review but I wanted to cove out whole experience n I'm sure I left sonething out, ill tell ya about next time.
