It’s tough to rate it a 3 because the course was beautiful but the service was pretty under-par. The guy in the pro shop explained the fact that they start on hole 7 and explained how to get there but he also explained how to get to the driving range as well. Both helpful things to explain to first time players to the course but the driving range is so far from the 7th hole that you forget where to go after hitting the driving range. The only person from the staff that we ran into was actually from the other course on that property so when we asked where we start he was unaware of where we started as well. I just so happen to run into a golfer that was near my path and HE had to explain to me where I needed to go to start. When the round was done there was a very nice and helpful gal to wipe down our clubs but never gave any directions on where to go to drop off our carts. It would seem like an easy task (dropping off the carts) but there’s 2 courses on the property and the only staff members I kept running in to was the OTHER course. Of course eventually we found where to drop the carts off but can easily see the holes in the operation. Which is tough for me to experience because I come from luxury hospitality and we leave nothing up to chance when it comes to our guests. We never assume that the guest we’re dealing with has been to our property before and that they know their way around, we ALWAYS offer help or directions and we have people posted in important places incase a guest doesn’t know their way around the property. So, again it pains me to rate a 3 star but it was pretty frustrating for our foursome that day, just wandering around aimlessly trying to...
Read moreThis course was wonderful. From the second we pulled up the staff was there to help. A cart was driven to our car and our bags were loaded up and taken to the pro shop. After we walked over and checked in, the cart was right outside and staff already knew our tee time and our names. They answered all of our questions, were very knowledgeable which was helpful as our group was from OR and WA. LOVED the course. Good fairways and actually rough is always really fun which is tougher to find at most public courses where I'm from. Usually the difference in grass length is minimal. Green were short, but the speed was perfect! For as hot and dry as Vegas can get, they really nailed the amount they watered them. The ball was biting and checking up on approach shots and the divots were appropriate for the shots- unlike some other courses where the greens are like concrete and the ball will roll all the way off, these greens were excellent. They also had on-course service on a week day which isn't always the case at different courses so that was great too. On the 18th hole as we were putting, they had an attendant who cleaned our clubs for us too. Great service all around throughout the entire experience. Oh place of play was perfect too. Might've had a few minute wait at the tee box for 1 or 2 holes, but it didn't buildup and carry over to the next hole. So we we promptly back to pulling up and teeing off on the following holes. Will definitely play again my next...
Read moreMy experience at the AGC as a guest was bad. Beginning in the pro shop, with Kyle, I was treated horribly. My tee time was at 1:20 PM and I showed up at 11 AM to practice. Kyle said, “You can’t show up to the course this early.” Shocked, I asked why not and he said because the range was small and crowded. In my 34 years of playing golf, from private to public courses, I’ve never experienced such bad guest relations and communication. Reluctantly, Kyle permitted me to go to the range to practice my short game. The driving rang was empty, and had been for the entire hour I there. At noon, Jon Morgan, Head Golf Professional comes to me and says, “I can’t have you showing up to the course two hours early! I just can’t!” He never told me why. Strange. He drove 3 minutes to the driving range to scold me! Sensing his frustration and anger, even, I asked if this was a directive or a discussion. I sensed he was ready to kick me off the property. So, I stopped talking. He went to touch my shoulder and I moved away, and he erupted! Threw up his hands and stormed away. What did I do besides wanting to practice? Nothing! I was flabbergasted. Embarrassed, and made to feel badly. I have never been treated so badly as a golfer. From Kyle in the pro shop to the inept outside staff to the head person, Jon Morgan, all should never be allowed to engage the public. Lastly, Jon Morgan should be fired! I will never go back...
