All in all, it was ok. Not sure if I would come back. My campsite was on a hill, so I was glad I brought extra blocks to level it out. I like how every campsite had its own sewer hook up, even tho I didn’t need it. And thank goodness I have a long cord on my trailer. Half of our group couldn’t reach their plug ins.
The uncovered stalls were a nice size, shady in the morning, sunny in the after noon tho. Some of the pens had wasps living in the pipes and were swarming the animals so some of the animals had to live in the round pens. As far as water goes, I felt bad having to walk through someone’s camp to turn on the water for the horses. I wish there was a hydrant at the end of the stalls. I was told pelleted bedding only, yet many other people were using shavings.
Bathroom was nice, although there is only one toilet and one shower per room. The shower head was very nice and I liked that I could adjust the water temperature. I’m glad there was a bath house though! Not all campgrounds have one.
The camp host was not in state. No one checked health papers. There was a camp host “substitute” who was very nice, but they weren’t told anything about checking papers so they just didn’t. I also only saw her once, when I arrived. Then she left and there was a substitute for the substitute and I never even met that person. No one could help us with maps, they just told us to download the Gaia app, which didn’t show any trails in the area.
This was my first trip to Eminence, and it was very beautiful and I had a good time, and I like how close to town camp is. I want to explore other campsites and have other...
Read moreThis is a nice place to stay with your RV especially if you have horses. The horse stalls are nicely sized, I would consider them to be double in size. The grounds are clean and well kept. They have one small cabin with a bed for 2 with a/c. (Must bring your own sheets for the bed.) Two one person shower/bathrooms are also located on the grounds. New this year is a round pen to work with your horses. The grounds are lit with soft solar cell path lights at night time.
A bonus we discovered this year is a private horse trail which the entry gate/land is owned by the owner of the park. It is located down the narrow road located to the right of the park. Go approximately 400 to 800 yards down the road, then through a gate with a sign, through the field, then keep left to go down a rocky path trail, you will in a few minutes come to another gate, go through this gate, follow the trail and th final trail runs along the Jack's Fork River approximately 6 to 8 miles up to Alley Springs Park. The views along the river are very good. Once inside Alley Spring Park, the spring area is magnificent.
I consider this not well known trail, to be among the best scenic horse trails in Missouri! (That's on a Missouri horse trail scale, dont compare it to the Grand Canyon or other wonders...
Read moreReally don't even want to give it one star. Got there and nobody would answer the door at camp host site even though there were two trucks parked there. Someone was in my space and had my stalls. (later found out from them they weren't leaving for 3 days) My reservations were confirmed for well over a month. I didn't have cell service but a gal there, that has a permanent site, called camp host and left a message. Also called owner and left a message letting them know the problem. Was there almost two hours and nobody responded to the messages. The camper was very nice and tried her best to help but the owner did NOTHING! We decided to leave. Owner had all my information on messenger and from the gal that called them. Owner never contacted me. I contacted her the next day and she did nothing to rectify her mistake. Kept saying I should have called her and she would have taken care of it. No offer for a refund or to set another time within a year or anything. Just lame excuses blaming me! Looks like would be a nice place to camp if the owner knew how to run it! Would never recommend them and will never attempt to stay there again! Don't waste you...
