Communication with the owner, Trey, was great prior to my move into Flowertown Glampground. I made it clear I had never lived in a RV but was grateful for the opportunity. Trey was initially accommodating and assured me I would have his assistance as a first time RV’er. In an effort to relocate states, I was renting a travel trailer from a friend who lived at Flowertown for several months a year prior. Trey offered and coordinated with the owner to move, prep and clean the trailer.
Unfortunately, the prep and cleanliness wasn’t acceptable upon move in. The black tank hadn’t been emptied/flushed and was on full upon move in. The hoses had not been connected. A water filter hadn’t been installed. The floors were filthy, spider webs and dead bugs throughout, etc. A couple days in when Trey got around to connecting the black hose, he realized it was cracked, used one of his extras and advised me to buy new. This issue should have been recognized and remedied prior to my arrival per his agreement with the owner. Once I purchased the new hoses, Trey advised he would replace them the next day but never showed. I didn’t have time to wait days as the black tank still showed full, so I had to YouTube how to replace and empty the tank myself. I was never made aware emptying it would be my responsibility, as the trailer owner who lived there a year prior relied on Trey to do it. I had no problem doing what was expected but was given no direction, list of expectations or responsibilities. Trey never should have allowed me to rent a lot if he had no desire to keep his word on helping me figure out camp life.
Thankfully I was only there one month before finding permanent housing. Within that month though, there was a long term camper with 2 dogs who lived tethered outdoors. They seemed to be puppies, cried all day, got tangled within the trees, were laying in their own feces, etc. It was heartbreaking. Another camper and I had to untangle the pups multiple times, as they couldn’t move or reach their water bowl. I still think about them today. For Trey to allow such neglect really blows my mind. This experience was what pushed me to get out ASAP.
Other issues included a washer/dryer that was kept in the shed for all to use. It was filthy inside and out, so multiple times I took it upon myself to clean what I could before using. The washer didn’t consistently spin the water out of the clothes well, but Trey advised that was a “me” problem although other campers told me they experienced the same. The washer can not handle bed linens or throws either.
Another camper let their dog off leash and a few times it went poo on my lot and I had to pick it up.
Trash cans were not consistently returned from the roadside on trash day.
Campers would leave trash bags outside of their campers at times.
Small cars should take the second, unmarked exit in, as the weeds between the gravel on the main path in rose so high they scraped against my undercarriage.
There are no amenities at Flowertown Glampground that would qualify this as a “glamping” experience.
From my experience, Trey does minimal for his property and guests. I hope he makes major improvements as time goes on, as a campground will never be passive income. The only positive experience were the farm animals. The goats were absolute perfection and so friendly.
I certainly do not recommend this place for single females or campers new to RV life. My experience made me feel unwelcome, bothersome and...
Read moreFinding a simple, nice campground to stay at with an RV or trailer always seems like it should be easy-but when you start searching for a spot in a new area you quickly discover it isn’t. Reviews are terrible, photos are fake, or the area looks like garbage. Oh, and good luck contacting some of these places, if they don’t pick up (which is often) they almost never call back. This makes it real tough to book a spot for a few nights while you’re on the road and driving to a new destination. Finding Flowertown Glampground was a pleasant surprise however. Calling the number listed, I head only a few “rings” before a friendly voice answered. I explained that I was looking for a spot for a travel trailer for a few nights and although it was last minute they were able to squeeze us in. Finding the campground (err, Glampground haha) was very easy and close off the main highway. Distance from the highway is only a few miles however, so you aren’t next to big rigs all night long. Pulling in displayed a thoughtfully laid out camp with decent space between spots. Our fist thought was “wow, this is amazing” because the previous few nights we had been at some parks that you’d want to only use for a quick over night place to park, not to actually hang out and relax. The campground was fantastic. The owner/manager on site was helpful in answering questions and very friendly. The kids and dog had an absolute blast walking around and exploring, and after reading reviews of others that stayed for longer time periods, I can absolutely see why this is the place to be when looking for a campground. We have family moving into the area, and I know without a doubt that Flowertown Glampground will be the spot we book for future visits. This location is just about perfect, it’s far enough from the busy areas, but close enough where heading “into town” isn’t a burden (and very easy to get to after a long day on the highway). My only complaint is that we won’t be staying longer to relax, but I know when coming though the area we will be happy to call Flowertown Glampground “home” for...
Read moreCan't really leave a review. We came from Ga and were at another campground close by so we stopped over there to check it out since it was closer to family for future. The entrance is off a busy highway at an angle with a big double gate and gravel road. Be difficult with a big rig or 5th wheel. But there is another entrance/exit that is not marked. We called and spoke with Trey and asked if we could come in and look around, he politely told us no we were like the 10th person and they were booked up to at least next April. We told him we were from out of state and had family nearby. He still would not open and let us in. Not sure what kinda of place this is, but overpriced for...
