We stayed in the North loop of Diamond Lake Campground, from August 28th - Sept 2nd, 2021. Growing up in Southern Oregon, I expect the staff to respect the atmosphere, especially when Quiet Hours are clearly written. Our first night there we found out campfires were not permitted even in fire pits, the website did not make that clear, you had to click on additional links to see the restriction. As my family and I are tent campers, you would freeze once the sun went down. As such, we were confined to our tents and went to sleep by 9pm. When I got woken up by the drunk jerks visiting from Bend (yes, I could clearly hear their conversations) at 10:53, I waited a couple of minutes to see if they were going to shut up. 5 minutes later the drunks kept at it and so I reminded them of the time. You could hear them open their camper door where 1 of the drunk ladies would say "We are so loud" where she repeateded this at least 3 times. I got into my vehicle and went to the Park Host on the north side, right next to the Boat Ramp. I told the guy, as I was half asleep and running on adrenaline what happened and he told me he would be down in a few minutes. I went back to my tent (after 11:15pm or so) and tried to go back to sleep. When he rolled up, he said he couldn't hear anything and yes, yes you could if you weren't hearing impaired. He finally said, oh yeah I can hear it. As my entire family was up now. He then went to their site where instead of just asking them to be quiet he made up a story that someone complained about music..music, I never heard any music. Then it gets worse. Instead of just leaving and calling it a night, they invite him for alcohol and for nearly 45 more minutes I have to hear A-L-L of them, while I just want to go back to sleep. I recorded over 26 minutes of their conversations because it was THAT loud! Something about 1983, cradle robbing, worst call out ever...come on! After 12:09am at some point, he finally left their site where I reminded him what time it was....give me a break. Federal employee, Volunteer, Man trying to play with the Cool Kids, what a joke. I will never forget that voice...worst camping...

This is our second time at this campground and compared to 7 years ago something must have changed. It wasn’t the views, because the lake is wonderful! Whoever is in charge of the bathrooms really needs to make it more of a routine to clean. I’m not trying to throw shade, I know these are obviously campground bathrooms. Very thankful they are flush toilets. I was not expecting warm water (which there wasn’t any), but no soap and they were just generally very dirty and when we first arrived one of the stalls was completely out of paper. Thankfully I had brought some from home. My husband had to visit the camp hosts to bring attention to the men’s restroom as the only toilet was almost overflowing from another guest. The camp host seemed annoyed and did not fix it until the next day. The camp area is very large, make sure to look at the map on the website and look over the pictures because every site is much different from one end to the other. We stayed in M which was pretty flat, but there were other areas that were much more sloped. Remember your bug spray when you come because being by the water there will naturally be more misquotes. Would have love to give this place a higher rating as the water is quite nice for boating, kayaking and what not and the campsites are nicely shaded with well built picnic tables and fire pits. The whole bathroom cleanliness and one of the water taps breaking while we were there really lowered my overall view of...

Very disorganized and unhelpful management. Manager had very hands-off, don't bother me attitude. We tried to get site next to each other. Didn't try to make it work and was not willing to be flexible or even work with us. "Computer tells me site is occupied" or "computer tells me site is under name xxx," when we knew this person had canceled, were some of the answers on a site that was free the entire time. Went back and forth several times to office. Insisted on not allowing us to change! To top it off, there was a huge group right next to us partying entire night. Lots of fulgarities we had to listen to until finally someone closed them down at about 1015p. Same thing. No help.

In addition Park was very unkempt and old, no maintenance or improvements. Sites gravel, unlevel , no privacy, some with very little space between each other, odd set up for posts and sewage, our post was in the middle of neighbor's site, had to climb over our power cable to get in and out. Some sites had door slabs which were broken, several sites were abandoned internet, no phone reception. Laundry area was fairly clean, equipment worked ok, but several quite old. Very random hours, had to start laundry 2hrs before closure at 6p? Only two bathhouse for large park.

We left early, willing to forfeit $50/nite. Never again, and would not recommend. Not to Good...

We absolutely LOVED THIS PLACE! the campground is huge, clean, the rangers were friendly, the camp host was very friendly when we knocked on his door at 9pm, and he helped give us some insight on how to snag a lakeside spot for our second and third nights. The lake side spots are absolutely stunning. Privacy is somewhat lacking in most sites, but there is enough distance between them that you probably won't hear your neighbor snore. All sites have picnic tables, and fire pits. You can also buy firewood from the camp host, and he was delivering wood during our stay (not sure if this is a current practice). The campground is about 20 minutes from crater lake (depending on your speed I suppose), and diamond lake is absolutely beautiful as well. We didn't swim, but we did do some kayaking, and the water was fairly warm in the middle of August. I say fairly warm by Northwest standards, not socal or south Texas standards. The water on Oregon beaches is cold, water in the gulf of Mexico is very warm. The water here was just fairly warm, but considering the elevation, it's warm. Speaking of elevation, don't disregard the night Time lows. It's hot in the day, and brrrrr at night! Great campground, can't wait to go back some day with my entire family

Im giving this 5 stars because everthing about the campground was great. The views were amazing. We stayed at K15 for an overnight. It was quiet. Enough firewood around to gather for a nice small fire. The attendant at the gate was pleasant and overall a wonderful experiance for our first time there. I will mention the bugs/spiders. Holy moly the bugs. If you have any issues w bugs/spiders..brace yourself. Every tree in our spot was covered in spider webs. They descended on us and tormented us all day/night. However. Nature has a way of making everything better. At night we were gifted a show of bats swooping down getting those spiders and bugs one by one. Ive seen bats before but this was something out of a Nat Geo documentary. I felt they got the revenge we so craved on those spiders. That is the only downside of this experiance. 5 stars 'cause the campground cant control those evil pests. But go prepared w/ a mosquito net and do you darndest to keep them out of your tent/rig.
