A Hidden Gem in Swan Valley – The Yurt Stay of My Dreams

My stay at the Hansen Guest Ranch in Swan Valley, Idaho, was nothing short of magical. Booking was simple, and they offered several accommodation options, but we were immediately drawn to the yurt and the online photos didn’t even do it justice.

Upon arrival, the owner Nancy rode up on her bike and greeted us with the warmest welcome. She personally walked me over to the yurt, which they had just finished cooling down for our comfort. After a quick and friendly tour, she let us settle in.

The yurt was incredible. It was equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, bed, pull-out couch, heaters, fan, and a spacious deck with views that were absolutely breathtaking. The space was calm, cozy, and beautifully decorated. I fell in love with the quilt on the bed and the duvet cover. I’m convinced they were handmade. The level of detail and comfort was truly impressive.

During our stay, we had breakfast with family at their campground and spent the day riding our ATV through the mountains. Nancy stayed in touch via text, and we let her know we’d be attending breakfast the next morning, which turned out to be a major highlight of our trip. They served freshly made sausage, eggs, potatoes, and the most delicious banana bread, plus great coffee and even better company. We felt so cared for without ever feeling intruded upon.

The property itself is amazing. It has a rock climbing wall, a fire pit for s’mores, and plenty of space to gather. It would be a perfect location for a family reunion or wedding. I’m currently trying to convince my boyfriend to get married there. That’s how much I loved it.

Nancy and her husband were outstanding hosts. If you’re visiting from out of town and want to truly experience Swan Valley like a local, I highly recommend staying here. Choosing them was the best decision we made. • The Venue: The ranch itself is absolutely beautiful, with gorgeous views and extremely reasonable prices for a multi-day wedding weekend. • The Incredible Team: Nancy, John, Scott, and Christy are the heart and soul of this venue. For three days, they worked tirelessly to care for our 50 guests and make our vision a reality, handling everything from decorations and cleanup to keeping us on schedule. They genuinely care about your event as much as you do. • Above & Beyond Service: This team is prepared for anything. They moved tables last minute, helped family members get where they needed to be, and when disaster struck, they handled it instantly. The moment that truly showed their character was when Nancy convinced the post master to reopen over a holiday weekend to find my missing bouquets. They are true miracle workers.
