Book your room now for a stay at Eagle Rock Lodge! Please don't discount my enthusiasm by thinking (as I've done) that it's written by a perpetually impressed traveller. I've never before written a review on google, although my husband and I have used online reviews for years and have travelled extensively in the U.S. and abroad. Our stay at Eagle Rock Lodge convinced us that it was time to do so. Others need to discover this wonderful, peaceful destination and its delightful owner-lodgekeeper, Debbie. In all our travels, Debbie is the most caring and kind host that we have ever had the pleasure to meet. She knows how to run a top-notch Lodge, with her hands-on, thoughtful approach to ensuring that every detail of your visit pleases you.
Our stay was for 4 nights, 3 of which we had a child with us. The Fireplace Suite offered a spacious sitting area, with the start of a fire built and firewood provided each evening so we could snuggle on the leather loveseat and watch the dancing firelight. We all - especially our child - loved going to sleep with the fire crackling and throwing off light. The room was quiet and contains a comfortable bed (not too soft, not too firm), fresh bed linens and plenty of room for a rollaway for a child. The bathroom (like everything else) is kept spotlessly clean and opens onto a kitchenette and dining area. Large windows provide a view of the beautifully-maintained grounds and the McKenzie River and lots of light.
We enjoyed coffee, tea and hot chocolate in our room every morning; Debbie keeps a beverage station open in the main room of the Lodge before breakfast so you can help yourself whenever you get up. Each morning, we were treated to a different 3-course homemade gourmet breakfast, starting with a preparation of fruit (for example, a fresh citrus combination topped with coconut), continuing with a sweet (such as their light and crispy "overnight waffles"), and ending with a savory plate (usually an egg dish with a meat side, like spinach and cheese frittata with sausage). Debbie sets out a plate of homemade goodies like cookies or brownies in the main room of the Lodge and leaves a bottle of port and wine open for her guests to sample and enjoy in the evening.
You can find much to do outdoors if you have children with you, even if it's raining (we would have enjoyed all these activities without children!). Right at the Lodge, you can be entertained for quite awhile skipping rocks on the McKenzie River. Debbie ensures that the grounds are meticulously groomed and invite strolling. The deck and grounds have plenty of comfortable chairs and benches (some protected from the rain) for relaxing, visiting and reading - all with a view of the clear, clean waters of the McKenzie. Up the road at Belknap Springs, there is a pool fed by natural hot springs; easy enough to purchase a ticket for day use and soak in the highly relaxing pool situated next to the McKenzie. Best of all, Debbie provides you with thick pool towels upon request, avoiding the need to rent thin towels poolside. We were surprised and happy with this kind offer. River rafting with High Country Expeditions was lots of exciting fun and gave us the opportunity to see a long stretch of the scenic and wild McKenzie River with a knowledgable guide. Debbie knows the owner there and they will treat you well knowing you are staying at Eagle Rock Lodge. Finally, we hiked the trails beside the Koosah and Sahalie Falls beyond Belknap Springs - simply gorgeous.
We took away only happy memories from beautiful Eagle Rock Lodge...and are convinced...
Read moreHusband and I decided to stay in the Owl Room at Eagle Rock Lodge Christmas Eve weekend. We arrived late, and Nancy was more than accommodating in her reply to us via e-mail as far as having a late check-in. When we got there, Robert checked us in and showed us to our room. The room was nice and toasty then and throughout our entire trip, perfect for coming back from a day of hiking in the rain and playing in the snow about 10-20 minutes East towards Bend. The room itself was super clean and comfortable. It had that cabin feel we wanted, but without that old, outdated, rundown funky look and feel you often get with cabins. The bathroom was nice and updated. Breakfast was delicious and peaceful. You choose an entree and tea, coffee, juice and a pasty Nancy makes for you is served prior, along with fruit. They have a tofu vegetarian breakfast, super delicious, but they also accommodated us being vegetarian by offering to replace the bacon that came with their French Toast option with a vegetarian sausage they have. Both hosts were super friendly, and you can tell they obviously enjoy what they're doing. Husband and I were prepared for slow internet, but surprisingly their WiFi was actually super fast and never went down on us. Location is great, there's two waterfalls nearby we stopped at that don't require a hike. The gorgeous Blue Pools is also about 15-20 minutes up the road, but that one will cost you about an hour and 45 minutes one way hike, with an incline over lava rock at the end. We were warned not to do that hike in Summer by Robert, as the place is crawling with hundreds of tourists. During our stay, we only passed about maybe 10 groups of people the entire duration of our hike. Belknop Hot Springs Resort is also up the road, and anyone can use their pool for $8 an hour. The natural hot springs were closed from fire damage when we went unfortunately. It was a wonderful and relaxing trip, and I would definitely recommend Eagle Rock Lodge to anyone staying in the area, or just looking for a nice quiet weekend...

This quaint Bed and Breakfast offers a serene escape nestled in the stunning Oregon countryside. It’s the perfect spot for peaceful reading by the riverside or simply soaking in the natural beauty around you.
One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible breakfast experience. The dining area boasts a fantastic view of the river, the beautifully landscaped grounds, and the bird feeders, providing a delightful backdrop each morning. We were consistently greeted by the local wildlife, with the Stellar Jays becoming our personal favorites! Kermit and Lisa offered appetizers of fresh fruit bowls and freshly baked pastries, with a new treat presented daily. Following the appetizers, there is a small menu of breakfast entrees, each as wonderful as the last. This delicious start was perfect for fueling up before a day of exploring the nearby attractions.
