This is one of the nicest free campsites I've been to so far. There is a pair of geese with 7 goslings, and a skinny turkey that visits. I even find some wild spinach and lots of dandelion greens for lunch.
My dogs have found a couple of stickers leftover from last year but this years crop are not mature yet. The grass was recently mowed and the privies are clean. There are several nicely shaded areas after the noon sun. The locals come through during the week. Some for fishing, some for a swim. Although I live out of a converted minivan, and I have a portable toilet, I will use the facilities the campground offers if they are available and clean. This Campground is well maintained. I have two cell phones from two different providers, Verizon did not work. Believe it or not my Tracfone had a signal, LOL. Skip out Campground is located on a reservoir. Read morePerfect for astronomy/astrophotography. Not a very well-known site for these persuits, but it's only 45 minutes from hotels in Elk City and Shamrock. Very well-maintained place with good facilities (tables, parking, etc) and not too far from civilization if you get into trouble or need emergency services.
