So much to say about this lovely place. To Start; you get a first class check in experience. you are escorted to your Campsite and they don't leave you until your RV is backed in, and settled! This is our second trip here. The first trip was pure vacation and this trip is work-kamping. With Covid-19; I am working remote and we decided since we could work anywhere, why not go back to Moonshine Creek. I get excellent WIFI with AT&T. You can't say that for many remote , secluded and beautiful places like this. The Bathhouse is immaculate; I have stayed at 5 star resorts all over the world that are not as beautiful as their bathhouse. That matters to us ladies! We back up to the beautiful creek and listen to it day and night; so relaxing. Their environmental standards are supreme. The creek behind my site is crystal clear, we can see trout surfacing to catch insects. They have sanctuary spaces too that are peaceful and look like retreats we have seen in Turkey and Greece. They are working hard to keep the surroundings so natural and vibrant. We love the natural banks of greenery and the natural moss on the rocks to zero trash on the ground anywhere. Campers are made to feel like family as the Owners and their Staff are out and about checking in on us. A group had a little gathering at the Group gathering area near our site; the Owner Jim came by to tell us about it ahead and told us if there were any noise issues after 10pm to let him know. They really care about your experience to be peaceful and natural. (There were no issues!) Lastly I will repeat that the connectivity is great, so if you need a spot to get away to work remote in your RV for a while , come to Moonshine Creek. I am on video/zoom internet conference calls with The Netherlands, Denmark, India and all over Asia without any issues at all. My Colleagues are suprised to see me on video and keep asking me about that beautiful creek running behind me. :) Nature and Network capabilities make this spot a diamond in the rough. Call and book your spot if you can get one! I know they sell...
Read moreAs a family of four with two special needs kids we go camping every other month for a few days at different parks and places. This , hands down was one of the nicest, well planned parks we have stayed at. From the entrance and all through the park the grounds , roads and sites were clean and well kept. All sites (even tent) had running water and electric hook up. A beautiful stream ran through the park and there were even two spots you could enter. The water was cold 🥶 but just beautiful. There was even a waterfull (kinda 🤔) directly next to our site aka "waterfall site " 😁 I would maybe recommend some how impoving the look of the giant pipe through the hill look 😂 😂 😂 like bushes...like up some rocks to hide it ....something 😦 So upon checking in after a four hour drive with two toddlers I will say I didn't feel the warmest welcome I ever felt when first walking in. I also thought it was weird while go over the rules , we kept repeating the no kids in sanctuary part like 3 times. Witch wonderfully is set up so the entrance is right next to our site 😂 it was hard to keep the kids from wanting to explore but thankfully there was a little bridge that had water running through it that was very entertaining for spectrum kids ❤️ We did have a golf cart man come by when we had set up a hammock . I had missed that when I checked the rules on the website. When he came up and explained he was def cool about it but also kinda over explained a little bit 😂 like we get it protect the trees....ya know the ones with site signs nailed/screwed into them 😂 Pretty big deal for us cause we have a non verbal , eloping, not into much son that loves to swing more than anything ❤️ 3 nights without one ..not really an option. So we were able to rig it up from my car to the table and no one bothered us the rest of the time 😊 All in all I def would recommend this park and a visit . Maybe not the most kid friendly but there is a good amount to to around the area as well. Great little office/store. Very clean and functioning facilities...
Read moreI do not normally give any business such a low rating. In fact, I rarely do reviews at all. However, I just drove by the exit to the Moonshine Creek Campground on my way home from GA. The feeling of disgust I had last Fall of 23 welded up in me once again! Here's the story....During the Winter of 23 I made reservations for my husband and I to camp here in Oct. 23. After that time well up into the Spring of 23 my husband got very sick. He was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer on July 31st and given only 6 months to live. Knowing that we could never travel again, I called the campground to cancel. They canceled the reservation but would not give me the deposit fee of $75 back due to their "policy". I explained the situation as my husband had to quit work and with him needing medical supplies it sure would be nice to have that $75. I mean this was around the first week of August and they certainly had time to rebook our site. The woman I spoke to said she would have to ask the owner and then call me back. I did not hear from her, so I called back after a few days. She answered the phone and said he would not budge from the policy. NO REFUND! I couldn't get over it considering our circumstances. I do not feel spiteful for having written this. Just disgust for the lack of human empathy and greed! Btw: My husband ended up passing away on Sept. 27th. This place broke my heart as we were so looking forward to camping there too.
The owner replies below...I admit that i might have gotten the fact that we were going to be there in Sept. instead of Oct. incorrect. I have "widow's brain". However, what he he is saying is wrong. I DID call and cancel! I spoke with a lady who cancelled my reservation for me. It was one of the first things I did after my husband was diagnosed. As far as us being a no show...that is all false. Unbelievable! It was him who would not give us the refund. Please sir ask your office helper instead of checking your "records". She will...
