Fully stocked camp store with everything you may have forgotten. The restaurant menu has a pretty solid variety with options for great appetizers, light meals like soup and salads, a wide variety of sandwiches, and burgers, including veggie burgers! Everything we tried was delicious and very well done! Staff was friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself was warm and welcoming. Expect to pay a bit more than average, but well worth it for the quality and location. Highly recommend ducking outside for a Giffords ice cream for dessert:)

Amazing experience! The staff was super friendly and we got some great suggestions for the area from them! We were lucky and got an amazing tent site with a view directly of Mount Katahdin. Also very calm, and we were able to rent kayaks and tubbing for the entire day for 35$. The tent sites were a bit expensive (20$ per person) but over all our experience was so great we are definitely planning on returning next year.

Spend the weekend here to climb Katahdin. Just an amazing campsite overlooking the mountain. The people running the camp were absolutely a joy to talk to. Everybody that you meet in the campground is very nice and approachable. You can hike for the whole day and come back knowing that your belongings are being messed with.

This is a great little spot. Secluded, but has a couple of amenities not expected in the woods. Has a bathroom with running water, not the cleanest, but I was very happy to use a toilet in a place where I have no cell service.||||It is an Application trail stop, so it has a small shop and a free, very basic, breakfast buffet if you stay with them.||||Views of the mountain is great, location as a whole is very nice. River next to you is very peaceful. Also has an event venue there for large parties which was very surprising, but looked nice.||||The cons that I saw were small but worth mentioning.||||Some if the campsites are close together. There are a few that are have more space, but from what I saw, most were pretty tight. If it was full, could have been a space issue. But it was rather open while I was there so I did not experience this.||||Campsite was also a bit pricey. At the time of my booking, it was about $25 a person, per night. So with the per person fee as opposed to just a flat per night fee, it could get pricey for a family. Again, I was not affected, but could affect someone else.||||The biggest complaint I had was the lack of someone on site to enforce the quiet hours or general rules. I only spent 2 nights, but the 2nd day we were hiking Mt. Katahdin, a tough hike. The night before, around midnight, well into the quiet hours, there was group there of 4-6 who were running back and forth, very intoxicated, yelling for about 40 minutes. Kept waiting to hear the man I thought, and still do think, was working there come out of his camper to talk to them; never happened. Could even hear them in their cabin, located directly adjacent to the camper of the man I saw doing maintenance on unoccupied sites. Should have mentioned it the next day, but with my big hike, I just forgot.||||Overall this is a great site. I assume my the noise issue was an isolated incident as no other review mentioned it, and my 2nd night was very peaceful.||||Will definitely return, and...

My initial intention was to post a not so favorable review after experiencing, by far, some of the WORST customer service EVER to include lack of empathy, total disregard to any form of communication from a customer via their staff, and VERY MISLEADING website regarding price/night stay!!!! ||Be FOREWARNED, the price is NOT $25/night as it states, with NO INDICATION ANYWHERE its actually $25/night per person!!!||In all fairness to the owner, it was a gross error in not paying VERY close attention to site description and amount billed to credit card for 5 night stay for 2 adults/2children at a whopping $496.00. This was for a RV site however it is a TRULY PRIMITIVE site, no hook ups and price include some type of breakfast?? We dont even pay that amount for a TRUE full hookup site with water/50 amp service/sewer and our pet included. Upon realizing that with a special needs daughter, this location would never work for us, I started reaching out to them despite being outside the 30 day cancellation window. ||It was a very difficult process getting any response to emails, phone calls, and even my husband going there in person. We weren't looking for a full refund as we knew it wasn't their error in making the booking. We were looking for some understanding that mistakes do happen and hoping to work with owner. ||My husband finally made one last call yesterday to location and did receive confirmation that owner had agreed to refund a portion of the stay :) My faith had finally been restored in this owner and truly appreciate the owner finally working with us. Also, a big thank you to Zach for all he did to help us.||It is a nice location but owner DEFINITELY needs to update website to include ACTUAL prices for overnight stays that include pricing for additional people and most IMPORTANTLY better site descriptions to indicate PRIMITIVE in all aspects especially for the RV sites.||Thank you again for your understanding, it is greatly...

My adult daughter and I had been looking forward to our camping adventure here for my 51st birthday. They really don't like you to request a certain campsite but with a little sweet talking they agreed as we were wanting a waterfront tent lot. They also were great about helping us reserve kayaks during our stay. Do to weather we were not able to rent them and had to cut our trip early. There were no other campers on the waterfront sites and they are were VERY small so we ended up moving to one of the bigger ones #23 and it was perfect for our large tent. I would definitely keep in mind as we learned right as we got there that the waterfront is not on the moving river but more like an inlet/bog still water, and as soon as we got out of the car we were attacked by black flies by the thousands and mosquitoes (middle of June) so we immediately started a fire to create smoke, as no amount of bug spray was helping. We never set up a tent so fast as we did that late afternoon. Wow... The restroom was right across from our site and was kept very clean. My daughter took a nice hot shower but when I went there was no hot water left the next day. But I was grateful for running water and toilets that flush. It down poured for hours and hours so we cut our trip short and left on the second morning and that is the only time we had their complimentary breakfast. They serve from 7:30-9:00 we got there at 8:00 and there wasn't anything left except bagels and fruit (fruit was spoiled :( so we grabbed a bag of chips for the ride home. If your going here be prepared for the black flies I wish we had brought head nets and researched the weather a bit better. My birthday plan ride was also canceled due to high winds. Staff was amazing, campsites are very clean and restroom was clean and in a great central location. We would go again but probably later in the season when black flies are at a...
