Diamond Lure Campground & RV Resort — Hotel in Talking Rock

Diamond Lure is a nice, quiet, rustic campground nestled in the Great Smokey Mountains in Ellijay, GA. Make sure you follow the RV safe directions on Diamond Lure’s website to avoid narrow or dirt/gravel country roads. The staff is friendly and very helpful; however, if you are allergic to cats, avoid the office area. We were escorted to our site and had assistance backing into our slightly sloped site (#32, you can’t choose your site by the way). We were on the loop directly behind the office which is a hilly area of campsites. The campsites are all full hook-up, gravel sites and include a fire ring and picnic table. Please note that there are a few long-term RV residents and tent sites sprinkled in with the RV campsites, but they also have a tent only camping area. The campground has a main bath house which was exceptionally clean and nice. Other amenities included are: laundry facilities, a lake w/beach, dog park, pavilions, playground, free cable TV and Wi-Fi; however, we did not use any of these amenities. There are lots of things to do in Ellijay and nearby Blue Ridge. Overall, I would recommend Diamond Lure because it is a well maintained campground and conveniently located near wineries, apple farms, shopping and outside adventures (note: the name includes resort which might be a bit misleading if you are used to the typical, luxury, fancy, pricey resort campgrounds, but there are lots of extras included here if you use or need them and at a great price). Stayed here for 10 months while taking care of some family business. The owners (Eshell and Shawn) are awesome people! Always pleasant to talk to and they really care about your stay here. The campground staff is very friendly and helpful. They escorted and helped us back into our campsite. The camp sites and spaced so each site has privacy, plenty of room and not stacked on top of each other. There’s plenty of amenities in this campground, an always clean laundry room, hot hot showers, fenced in dog park, playground, horseshoe pits, a beautiful lake, well lit gazebo for late night strolls by the lake, a small swimming area, and plenty of places to fish, canoe, and kayak. Campsites have lots of trees for shade, or hammocks, fire pits, picnic tables and all hookups plus Free WiFi and Cable TV. The owners and staff are always on top of things here in the RV park, its always CLEAN, and well maintained. Its located in North Georgia nestled in the Appalachian Mountains just minutes from Ellijay “The Apple Capital of Georgia” with lots of orchards, apple houses, and vineyards within walking distance. This is by far the “best campground” we have stayed at while traveling fulltime in our RV. To everyone a Diamond Lure Campground, Thanks for all your southern hospitality. We are staying here June 18th to September 18th. Office staff is very friendly and helpful during check in and after. They will give you a bag full of brochures for businesses, restaurants and points of interest. Was escorted to our site and received help backing in with no issues. Park is very clean and blanketed with trees making almost every site in the shade. There are 2 sections with rv sites and an entire section by itself for tent camping. Park has a beautiful lake with beach access for swimming, even with a fenced area for swimming for dogs. New playground equipment and a fenced dog area away from the beach are also here. This time of year fireflies blanket the park about an hour before sundown and a little while after dark. Roads and sites in the park have had gravel recently put down making them better. The main bath house is a bit dated but very clean. Laundry facility is adequate and has newer machines. Digital cable works well and has over 100 channels. The wifi has a good, strong signal also.
