Talk about off the beaten path, our GPS had no trouble finding this place, but it's down a pretty narrow paved street and the trees hanging over the street touch the top of our 12.5 ft coach. Once in the gate it's gravel and lots of mowed grass. All hookups worked well, our site was not exactly level but worked fine. Our nose pointed toward the lawn and trees, real pretty. Just beyond that is a good size creek, people fished and the "resort" offers float tubes, life jackets and a ride in their van up the creek to drop you off, then there is a little dock on the creek to get out. We didn't do any floating but there were several cars parked in another area just over the fence from us and families coming all weekend ready to get in the water. They have cute cabins around the outer area and showers but we did not see the insides of either. No laundry and no cable, satellite worked fine. Great nightly rates and a staff that keeps things cleaned up and nice, no trains, planes or traffic noise. It's not a park for everyone, it's small and no fancy stuff but we would camp here again. The city of Talladega is about 10 miles away, as is Talladega Super Speedway. There's a Walmart in town too. We're in a 40ft...
Β Β Β Read moreMy Wife, 7 year old Son & I went tubing today on 7/7/24 for our very first time here. This was the absolute worst experience that I have had in my 46 years of life. My Wife had the same experience as I. The water was so shallow that when we first got in I had to walk over 300 yards before the water became deep enough for me to float in, then I got stuck again, and multiple times thereafter creating what was supposed to be from what I was told a 2 hour float downstream, became a 5.5 hour float downstream, with no stops. I got injured quite a few times, cut up, scraped up, flipped over and hit my head more than once. There were multiple guest there drinking alcohol, smoking weed, cigarettes, eating edibles, swearing loudly with small children around everywhere. It was absolutely horrible. My family will never go there again. This was supposed to be a birthday present for my Wife, in which I failed her miserably with that. There is so much more negative things that I could say, but I won't. The Staff however was extremely nice, so no complaints there. They get 5 Stars, everything else gets a -1 Star. Extremely...
Β Β Β Read moreThis has been the best weekend. We rented a cabin for two nights. Arrived Friday afternoon. Floated the creek Saturday morning into the afternoon. It was so much fun. Swam a little Saturday after lunch then fished that evening. Sunday swimming and check out. We'll definitely be back soon. They will take you and your gear to the drop off spot, if you don't want to camp/stay over night. So if you have your own stuff(even if you dont) and just want to make a day trip it's well worth it. We got in the water at 9am and it was around 1pm when we got back from the dock .so right at 4 hours to float the whole thing in an intertube with no paddles. If you have a paddle you could finish it quicker. Some parts of the creek are at an almost standstill.
Staff has been super nice the whole trip, too. I highly recommend checking it out. It's just far enough from Talladega to be a get away but if you need to run into town for something it's close enough...
