This is my first time "glamping" with my new teardrop camper. I really couldn't have picked a better location to stay at. After the few big storms that blew through and knocked down a bunch of trees I was expecting a rough experience, but I was pleasantly surprised upon my arrival to the camp. All the sites were extremely clean and you wouldn't have thought a storm had blown through only a week or two prior to my stay. Easy access to the camp and site off of Rt 16, easy hookup, and right at the foothills of the white mountains for hiking and visiting North Conway for touristy activities. Given it was memorial day weekend it was relatively quiet given the camp was full of families with kids - I can only imagine what its like outside of memorial day. They had alot of amenities such as clean bathrooms and showers, a playground for the kids, beach and river access, and a beautiful mini golf course with art by a local artist . One of the best experiences camping thanks to the park manager Mike Turner, who held a great memorial day bonfire and music. He was super friendly and attentive and made routine rounds of the campground to make sure we had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. A++. Also, I had the pleasure of meeting the local maintenance worker Corey, who was one of the hardest maintenance workers I've seen up that way. Truly, the campground was a one of a kind experience given the location, amenities, immaculate condition, and outstanding staff. This is going to be my new go-to camping spot, and its great that its dog and family friendly!

I booked this campsite last minute (one day before July 4th), so my expectations were not very high. I'm glad to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely book a campsite here again! Price: The price for the campsite was fair (around $50/night) and included access to water right on the site. The main office was also a convenience store, which sells basic items, as well as firewood and ice. I was happy to see that prices weren't higher simply because of the convenient access to these items. Location: Our campsite was close to a river, which you can access. My dog loved it! The site is not technically in the White Mountains, but it is on the outskirts. There is access to nearby hiking trails. Closest gas station is less than 10 minutes away. Closest grocery store is less than 20 minutes away. So the plus is that you have access to basic places, but you still have that camping feel at the site. You may still see bears, but it is relatively safe! Others Positives: The staff were very kind and helpful. The campsite is dog friendly, but you should bring a rabies certificate for verification purposes. In addition, the bathrooms are incredibly clean and better than your average portapotty. There are also showers, but they are small if you are tall like me!

We enjoyed our stay! The staff was super friendly, the camp store was well stocked and clean, even selling little cones of feed to feed the miniature horses and goats. Overall the site we had was spacious for our trailer, and it being a smaller campground, everything was a short walk away. It seems almost all sites have a fire ring with flip up charcoal grate and grill; which is a really nice touch. The river had a spot to let our dogs swim which was great! We even saw a small trout! Only pitfall of the campground is it is starting to show its age, horseshoe pits and shuffleboard along with the mini golf and playground have definitely seen better days. The office is brand new so hopefully the rest of the features will be brought back to life. There were a lot of mosquitos so break out the citronella! Also a shooting range is close by, did not ruin our trip by any means, but you can heard gunshots through the woods. In conclusion; we had a great time here and we both said we would certainly return! Thank you Tamworth Camping Area! ALSO; don’t follow your GPS; there is a new office and entrance; coming from route 16 it’s on the left about .2 miles before the GPS entrance.

I tried Tamworth Campground (now part of Modern America) for the 1st time with my husband on their opening weekend and lets just say we will be returning soon. Despite the weather and it being opening weekend we enjoyed it here. We are normally tent people but decided to rent their Jayco trailer and we really enjoyed it. For the most part it was clean only a few things I can recommend but I'll get to that(nothing major). The trailer was well stocked with all the kitchen essentials you need from kitchen cookware to hand towels and cleaning supplies it was a great touch.

The staff was all very friendly and I wish we got their names but I'm horrible with names so Ill get them next time. They inspect the rental with you to make sure you have everything you need and if anything is missing. The only thing we needed was food bedding and towels.

We don't have young kids but we have a grandson and so when we book we will bring him because he would have a blast at the playground and playing and fishing on the river. The water was very high because of the recent rain but we will be back to enjoy that for sure. The fire pits were great nice and big and you can even cook on them. Best firepits I seen a very long time and I travel all over NE to camp so that is a great thing as we are the type of people who love to cook on a fire.

Only thing I would recommend the staff to do is the following:

1: A Broom to keep in the camper - We are clean folks and would have swept through out the weekend and as we left but didn't have one. We did have cleaning wipes and stuff but not a broom.

2: Maybe some time soon get a new mattress. That mattress was not comfortable at all and even though it had a good wood support under the mattress the mattress itself forced you to roll towards the middle because there was no mattress support.

3: We used the heat because it was a rainy chilly weekend and when it clicked on it had a musky odor. I get it most campers do as they get older and have been sitting over the winter as I use to own one but there are ways to help that. I can see from the AC vents there might be a problem too. So my only recommendation would be to look into that.

Other than that thank you Tamworth Campground for giving us a new camping spot that is less than 1hr...

Anna Maria is a passive aggressive piece of work! I will use today as an example of many of our interactions this year. As a seasonal member, we have a gate key and we forgot it this week at home. Anna Maria this morning, made a point of letting us know that she was in the office early by coming out and getting a board and bringing it into the office. we then went to the gate and waited to be let in only to be left waiting because it was 15 minutes before the office opened. She clearly wanted us to know that she was there and that we would wait. This is one example of many that we have seen this year. Including speaking, derogatory of campers checking in for a short stay in front of us, arriving early, and being told that they would wait until the exact time that the campsite check-in time was. Leaving people in the parking lot when the campsites were clearly open. The campground has been empty most of the year. She regularly calls the police for nonexistent issues. There are constantly police on the Campground, which is not very relaxing. She uses a sickly sweet voice to your face, to the point of being nauseatingly fake about it , but is very nasty, truly a horrible human being. She is a control freak who in every way lets you know that she will be in control of things to the point of making people extremely uncomfortable. She has actually stated to campers that if people don’t like the way she does things they don’t have to come. And that she does not want them there. The camp is in a state of disrepair, including the bathrooms and the children’s playground, however, I can see this year that they have tried to make some improvements. The campground itself is lovely. It is a shame that we will not be coming back because of absolutely ignorant conduct, lack of professionalism, passive aggressive behavior by the people running the place. It has potential, but not when people like this will make people uncomfortable at every turn. What should’ve been a great first experience for seasonal camping has turned into feeling like you’re walking on eggshells the whole time that...

I have been coming here with my family since the early nineties. The previous owners were fantastic hosts with a beautiful place you felt like family there. Modern America is in their third season of owning this . Let me tell you things have changed . Mis management hiring young kids with no clue on how to run a campground. They turned behind the main gate into an old truck junkyard with buckets of oil trucks ripped apart crap everywhere. When it was mentioned to them that it was dangerous with all the kids around they told my long time seasonal friend to “leave if it bothers him” now here’s a guy that pays in full every year for the following season , and that’s how you treat him. The following year they hire some other guy who’s “23 with ten years management and heavy equipment experience “ yea those numbers didn’t jive. Guy could run the kubota my friend had to show him how to use it. During a couple of events last year there was literal poop on the floors no toilet paper , my neighbor said hey Mike no toilet paper and poop on floor on there Mike throws us a roll of toilet paper says here you go buddy. I paid for the 2025 season upfront over 4k but decided to leave along with about 8 other seasonals. My trailer was out on the 1st of June it’s been unplugged since last mid September . They charged me 3 bucks for electric that I haven’t been plugged into and 50 bucks for a key card deposit even though I said I was mailing them back. So petty they got my 4 grand no prorated refund but was told as soon as I pull my camper off site it’s “abandonment” and it’s theirs to take back. This place is horrible the new lady Anna Maria she’s a piece of work . Don’t leave a card on file you been warned . And it’s not just tamworth it’s most of the ones they...
