My wife and I have been living full time in our 5th wheel since July of last year and this campground qualifies as both the absolute poorest (unhealthy water system - see below) and the second most expensive out of nearly 90 locations we’ve been to. This campground is really a trailer park with just two short-term sites. When we booked our stay, the pictures made it look like it was a very nice resort - it isn’t. There are also some management practices that border, in my opinion, on being at least unethical if not a more serious legal definition. Specifically, we paid $10 additional to be able to reserve the site we wanted. When we pulled in, that site had been given to somebody else; but we didn’t get our extra money back. Now, the big issue: the water system. All hose bibs are located underground. - some just in a dirt pit and others in a 16” diameter casing. That would be okay, if the hose bib wasn’t under 12” of mud, wood scraps, asphalt chunks and even a coke can. It was absolutely impossible to hook up the water without contamination of the rig’s water system. We were there just 4 nights; but both my wife and I developed intestinal issues. No proof it was the contamination but it makes you wonder. Do yourself a favor: camp anywhere else at least for the near future. New management has started making improvements (like the very nice concrete pads for the two short-term sites) but personally, sanitation comes before a concrete pad.

Have came here many times over the years. Last time was here ate at the ShipyardBar & Grill. I left a review on their page. All I can say is the new owner has made a lot of improvements. it looks so much more upkept and clean. I can say I've never camped here, but have been out on boats here before and it's always been a lot of fun. So if you're a boating person or love the outdoor camping and have a camper or houseboat this would be the place to be in this area.

If I could give this place 11 Stars I would. Two words: Waterskiing Squirrel!! Hope these guys keep doing the promotional stuff. It made my summer!!! Oh, their gas is also one of the cheapest on the lake. $5.99 when we were there.

Wanted to launch at the dock on Friday 8/12/22 so I called ahead and asked if I could leave my trailer there for the weekend. The lady I spoke with said "no problem". So after an hour-and-a-half pull I arrive early Friday afternoon. Just about had the boat in the water and went in to pay the $10 launch fee. Since I didn't have cash I paid the extra $1 ($11) to run my card.... No problem. I then asked where I should park by trailer. The fella at the counter wanted to know what color truck I had. I asked "why". He repeated: "What color truck" ?? I told them that I wasn't leaving my truck since we were camping and needed the supplies in it. "Well, you MUST have a vehicle attached to your trailer or you cannot leave it" was his reply. "Why", I asked again. "Well, if we just allowed trailers our parking lot would be full and there would be no place for anyone to park"...... "How does that make sense", I asked. I then asked if I could pay extra just to leave the trailer. "Now you are trying to bribe me" was his response." Really??? What a jerk. I simply packed up and left to go to NORRIS LANDING where the staff is always friendly and understanding. We also rented a great pontoon boat for the weekend from NORRIS LANDING and filled with gas and came back and had lunch for 20 people.

LMMC: I want my $11 back. I was not willing to deal with you any longer on this day so I left. Terrible...

Our first time to stay here and I can say that every aspect of our four day vacation there was top-notch. Management was on top of everything and very attentive. It was Very easy to rent the pontoon boat ( new boats) and they also have an awesome restaurant to hang out with great food. I can’t say enough good stuff about the people who work here. Everybody that work there went over the top to make sure we were having a good time. We ate at the Shipyard twice and both times the food was exceptional. Thank you Joe for all your help! We...
