Stayed here for one day and night in Loop C for labor day weekend, make sure to take a canopy some areas don't have trees so there isn't much shade. It was pretty full but we got lucky enough to find a spot. I enjoyed my stay here the lake had some algae but nothing too crazy. The bathrooms were closed for whatever reason but they did have porta potty. The camp comes with a table and campfire ring. When you arrive grab an envelope and look for a spot, the directions should be on the envelope and afterwards just deposit it into a tube they have there which is right next to the station. It was $17 for one day/night stay.

It was a great campsite. It is more desert than forest at the camp but there are a few trees at various campsites. We had 14 people stay at tent group site 6. We brought 2 camp stoves and a stand up bbq. It is going to be windy so prepare to have some dirt in your tents. You'll need plenty of stakes for your tents. There is no fire wood so bring your own. We went through 9 bundles in two nights. Kern river is super close for fishing and swimming. There are single use restrooms and structural restrooms around the campsite. There is also various water spouts around camp. But you should also bring water and TP.

Not for those who don't like dirty.stay away from this place. It is only for us rough rugged Individuals who don't mind sweat. We work hard and relax harder...we stay up until 4am..this is the wild wild west of camping..dont expect to bathrooms expect portapotties....and prep for the wind. Good luck!

I never really write reviews but this campground was not a good place for families i reserved a group campsite for 35 people we get there only to find that the check in there was nobody there so our family had to find our spot by ourselves in the night take note we have never been here so we didn't know our way around there is also no shade at all and its ridiculously windy for like one hour they have porta potties which were clean but had 2 black windows inside the toilet bowls so we had to drive to the main restroom which was by the entrance the lake was more like a swamp more for fishing so we had to drive to the other campsite and get in the lake there also had to drive to kernville and go in the river it was a waste of money the wind was so bad it snapped the tent ans canopy which isn't the campgrounds fault what made us mad was the fact that it says on the website it has amenities which it doesn't at all you have to go to town to do jet skiis and all of that never again in this campground we did a reservation for 5 days and only stood 2 and the rest of the days we got a motel horrible experience if you have a family and kids and want to do activities don't come here if you want to go fishing i think its ok to go here otherwise its just literally dirt and pavement and nobody around keep in mind there is still no one in the check in station the entire 2 days we were at this campground we even had a dispute with a drunk guy who followed our family to our campsite and threatened us and we couldnt even call the police because no service or tell anyone because there was no body at the check in but we did make the best out of it just...

The area including the campsite is beautiful but I had the WORST experience there last weekend (July 6).

Reservation Issue: The reservation I got was for unspecific site. There was no camp host to help me out finding the site.

Dirty: The camp 9 area was super crowded with campers. There was trash everywhere. Majority of people were leaving their trash on the site after leaving the site.

NOISE: Two groups next to us were SUPER LOUD and did party till 3AM. Then again, they started around 6AM (music and drinking). I couldnt sleep at all.

Very close camp sites: The camp sites are super close to each other. Everyone passing through site srking and taking on phone laudly.

I would not go to...

12/11/20 Update: CAMP 9 IS CLOSED BECAUSE OF COVID! This is the only dump station that has fresh water and garbage.

I didn't go into the campground, I just used the RV dump station, which accepts credit cards. Be aware, there is potable water, but you have to look for it. I filled my tank with the water supplied by the dump station, then I found the potable water as I was leaving. They should have a sign that shows you where the potable water faucet is. I have a filter on my hose; hopefully I won't get sick from the non-potable water (although, I don't know if it is actually non-potable or if it comes from the same source as the...
