This outstanding hotel is not only managed well, but staffed so efficiently. We recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. I had driven by a few times and was interested in trying something new. I was unfamiliar with this brand, and pleasantly surprised. We were staying at a mediocre hotel, not far from here, and we were looking for a change. I was able to make a reservation through their Choice hotels website, without a problem. I was so glad I did.||We arrived earlier than the listed check in time, and were greeted warmly by their AGM, Martin. He was pleasant, and very professional. He knew a lot about the area, and made some great recommendations. Martin made us feel right at home, and was truly engaged and kind. Overall, everyone we encountered at this hotel was eager to help, and so friendly.||After check-in, we headed to our room, which was surprisingly beautiful. I say surprisingly, as I am unfamiliar with Cambria. The guestroom is well appointed with the perfect size bathroom, beautiful flooring throughout the guestroom, and very comfortable beds. There is a desk, a comfortable armchair with a small table, ample closets, and plenty of counter space throughout. The television is mounted on the wall and has amazing picture and sound quality. There is in room, coffee, with a Nespresso machine and the capsules needed for coffee. There is also a small mini fridge that was really nice to use. The linen is good quality, and the towels were plentiful and beautiful.||Overnight parking is convenient and ample in a flat lot close to several keyed entrances to the hotel. There is a nominal fee of $10-$11 for parking, my apologies, I can’t recall the exact amount. They have ample handicapped parking, and the grounds were very clean. It is a very safe location, with close places nearby to walk your dog. They offered to us a dog bed and bowls for our dog, which was very sweet. They also gave our dog treats when we arrived. They made him feel welcome also!||Housekeeping is efficient, hospitable, and thorough. The hotel overall is immaculate. The hotel is very contemporary and tastefully decorated. The lobby space is inviting and a great place to sit and relax. ||We enjoyed two meals at their on-site restaurant and both were outstanding. We also enjoyed amazing cocktails that were prepared by their visiting food and beverage training executive, and he was lovely as well. We also had an opportunity to meet the Executive Chef and he was fun to chat with, and very nice.||They have amazing outdoor space, including a beautiful event lawn for special occasions. The pool is a good size, with lots of seating outside of the pool are places just sit and relax and enjoy the property.||The hotel is located in Templeton, which is adjacent to Paso. It is located 2 to 6 miles from everywhere. You need to be. Wineries are close by, as our dining options off property. The location is exceptional, and can’t be beat!||My only regret is not having started our four night stay at this hotel. We wasted two nights at another hotel. We were sad to leave, but we will be back again at the end of August! Overall, I give this hotel a 10 out of 10 and will be the only place we stay moving forward when...
Read moreGross hygiene standards and appalling customer service. I found a visibly filthy, unsanitized toilet at check-in past midnight after a long drive and had to clean up the gross mess left by previous guests, including poop and period stains. Despite reporting it with photos, management never responded.
At checkout the next day, the front desk staff dismissed the issue completely with absolutely no apology, no investigation, and no assurance of improved standards. Instead, she only mentioned waiving a $10 parking fee, presented in a tone as if I should be thankful. At first I was so confused because I couldn’t understand how a dirty toilet connected to parking, and when I realized the $10 waiver was their so-called resolution, I felt nothing but insulted and belittled.
The hotel took zero responsibility and told me to contact Expedia if I wasn’t happy, which is absurd since Expedia has no responsibility for the hotel’s failure to provide a sanitary room.
Missing the most basic sanitary requirement raises serious concerns about the overall hygiene standards of this hotel, and the lack of ownership makes it even worse. Other reviews confirm this is not an exception but a concerning consistent pattern.
Avoid at all costs, unless you are fine cleaning other guests’ poop and period stains in exchange for a $10...
