I stayed here with my son for one night while we were visiting the Sunrise portion of Mount Rainier NP. We had just spent 5 days over at Olympic NP before coming over here. I had trouble booking 2 consecutive nights at Paradise Inn; besides, Paradise isn't that convenient for visiting Sunrise area.||This review is for the regular Lodge room, which is basically a glorified name for a motel. I gave it 3 stars but basically 2* for the room, 4* for location.||First, the motel room, 2. We were given room 8, which is downstairs. Upside is you can park right outside. Downside is you can hear every single footsteps/movement of the people in the room right above you. The hotel boasts they have been recently renovated - "recently" = 2015. It is serviceable but I think only the sleeping area has been renovated. The bathroom fixtures still look like they are from the 1990s. In any case, the room is clean. Bed and pillows aren't that comfortable. The main downside is the motel building is
Read moreWe waited 15 min for anyone to greet us upon arrival. Wi-fi was subpar - at least 3 other guests complained. The manager had to email IT to get it working - she said the wind takes it out. It goes out often. It apparently is the guests problem if you don’t continue to complain about it. No wi-fi means no capability to get/make calls, which could be problematic if you need to contact anyone. We also had moldy toilet paper, which the office mgr blamed on dust around the property. There was a housekeeping woman in the ofc who claimed she cleaned the room but the note in our room said Kevin cleaned it The office mgr essentially laughed in my face when I complained upon check out. I called the Frank Hotel call center and explained the situation and said I wanted some type of refund after she laughed in my face. They sent it off to corporate but suggested I go back to speak with the office mgr if I wanted a refund because corporate likely would not refund it. I went back in to talk to office mgr she said no refund - she called Juanita at their call center, they were discussing the situation as if I was being unreasonable. I asked for Juanita’s phone number, she said it was on our bill (it wasn’t) and, when I asked for it, she said Juanita told her not to give it to me. I would not stay here if you care about having access to making calls or if you want to be respected and not laughed at by both the office mgr and the...
Read morePros: We stayed in the King suite. It was a decent size, decent beds, clean, lots of windows. Cons: Very weak wifi (had to stay in specific spots in the room), no cell coverage (had to drive 4 miles to Packwood to make phone calls), no land line in the room, no coffee maker in the room (have to walk down to the lobby to get your coffee). We had an issue with a clogged toilet at 10pm, no plunger in the room, and the front office/lobby closes at 9pm. There was an after hours emergency phone number on the check in form, but no one answered the call. Next morning, go to the office to let them know what happened and was told by the manager that they had changed the emergency phone number, but forgot to change it on the check in sheets. He also stated that he had tried to convince owners to have the lobby open later, because ' he wasn't going to get up out of bed to drive over to help anyone at 11:30 at night'. I requested a refund for the night's stay, but seriously doubt to see any refund. The staff just doesn't seem to care about their guests. They are charging way too much for their rooms for this type of guest care. If it were some dingy motel, I would expect it, but not when you pay as much as they...
