If reviews were done solely on location, Squaw Rock would easily get 5 stars- if you get a river front spot. The back spots are just that, back up to the highway. |A few of immediate words that come to mind are sardines, packed, cramped, loud and lastly, poorly equipped for a RV RESORT. While you can't say the owners lie to get bookings, they certainly don't forewarn perspective customers. A few important things to know- |1. The dumping station is closed due to permanent tenants using the septic system. THERE IS NO sewage hook ups or dumping of grey/ black tanks. With that in mind there is 1 male shower & toilet & 1 female shower & toilet- for 50 RV SITES. ||2. The website talks strongly about evening quiet hours- not enforced. ||3. If you select sites 41 and higher and have a long rig, be prepared to maneuver. The pool fence and playground are right there and we watched folks try to get in for up to 30 minutes sometimes. ||4. The sites are opposing pull in and back in so for example site 39 is pull in so sites 40 is back in, 41 pull in, 42 back in etc. They're is only ONE 30 amp power source and ONE 50 amp and it's first come, first serve so have adapters on hand especially during the busy months. |||5. The grassy trees area is far from true scale (much smaller) and is basically the dog potty. Everyone brings their dog there to poop and pee so i wouldn't be crazy about trying to sit out there. ||6. Tight streets inside the park especially when some sites have over 3 cars to them. Sites 31 thru 34 are not rv friendly.... maybe an R pod or similar but it's for tents. ||7. Store staff are nice enough. My check in went like this: ||ME -Hey there, I'm here to check in.|Desk- And|Me- and what?|Desk- what's your name! ||I went to my site and there were 3 picnic tables blocking the back 1/2 of it so I went back to the front desk to ask for help moving them. I was literally told I had to move them myself, which I did. ||I wasn't given the bathroom code until the day after check in and wasn't warned of no sewer hook ups or dump station being closed so it was already to late for me. I asked about propane and got, "As long as my guy is around. I'd make sure you got it during the day though." ||Store / check in building hours aren't accurate. Random open/ close. ||This is a family campground and there are kids everywhere doing kid things so don't come here if you are seeking privacy and peacefulness. ||Bottom line is that this is not a "resort". Far from it. It's a camp ground so come and enjoy it with that in mind-...
Read moreReview of Squaw Rock Campground outside of Naches, WA. We stayed in site 2O, for 3 nights (August 5-8, 2021). This small, private owned campground sits along the Little Naches River about 30 miles west of Yakima on Hwy 410. They offer basic cabins, tent sites, partial hookup RV sites, as well as a handful of full hook up sites. NO dump Station currently. Sites have rustic fire pits and most had pinic tables. Most sites are VERY close together, some extremely tight to your neighbor. However, if you have a short rig, you may have extra lounge space behind your site. The ones along the highway back right to it, but traffic isn't too heavy. Our back in site 20 was extra wide on the passenger side and made it feel more private. There is a steep path to the river adjacent to site 20 in the back, so be prepared for light foot traffic next to your site. 20 is a partial hookup site. We were heading east on our way home, so we dumped at Yakima Sportsmans State Park ($5 fee). You will share a power pole and a "Y" connection for water with your neighbor, so whomever arrives first can claim the 50 Amp or 30 amp (bring your adapters). There's a restroom/shower house in the center campground with a single private men and women's restroom, and shower rooms with 2 stalls per men/women. Restroom and showers have a door code, (but be sure to knock and to use the door chain when inside to avoid unwanted surprises). Nice pool, clean grounds and cabins, well stocked camp store with gas/diesel, basic food, eggs, milk, treats, beer, ice, propane fire pit rentals, etc. and free DVD rentals. Adjoining restaurant open daily except on Thursdays. We didn't eat there, but some campers said it was good. Overall great stay, just be prepared to be in close quarters with your neighbors. They give you wrist bands to wear. Dry, powdery dust floor in camp sites. There are some grassy common areas for vollyball, lounging etc. They have a nice playground area. No T-Mobile signal, Wi-Fi only available when close to the store. River looked nice to splash in and there were families fly fishing. Lots of bats at dusk to watch over the river. Dog friendly. Overall a peaceful stay and we would return. Pictures mostly taken on a Thursday, campground was almost full for the weekend. Friendly and...
Read moreWe booked online with this group, and when we got there, our spaces were taken by someone else. They kept saying they were having trouble with the online booking, so it doesnât show up as booked??! This was for 2 RVs. We argued for about an hour that they needed to honor the booking. Finally, one of our group got their spot, and we were placed somewhere else- not next to them. We got warned about dog barking as our dog barked but then we shushed him after that. Meanwhile, next door to is, dogs were left alone in the RV and barked all day. Other peopleâs kids were yelling and screaming all day as well, but didnât get warned. Then, same next door neighbors left their campfire u attended, the wind picked up and one of their chairs blew into the fire. We scrambled to get it out and another blew in! Could have easily started a fire. The. On our last day, the lady owner asked if we were staying another day and I said no. And she said-check out is 11, and it was noon. We never received any information about checkout time but I flew back to dis-assemble the camp. We left about 30 min later. Because if the problems with booking, they agreed to comp us a night. When we went up to pay for the 2nd night- the store lady said- oh, youâre fine, itâs settled. A few hours later, our friends went to make reservations for next year, and the owners said- oh, weâd be happy to have you back, but your friends arenât welcome back here. We were shocked. They screwed up, but tried to make it all about us. Do not trust them. Also, âsquaw rockâ is a...
