This was a nice spot to camp. HOWEVER the camp hosts were so rude! When we pulled in they had an open flame fire going in a BBQ. With wildfires raging nearby!!!. Illegal! Stupidity at its worst! They had motorbikes that they rode around the camp ALL DAY LONG! They also had a barking dog that never shut up. If that wasn't bad enough, they put that yipping dog on a motorbike and rode around the park. What a bunch of idiots! We did not appreciate all the extra dust they were creating. Every time they rode by they looked into our camp as well. Seriously! One of our group was Hispanic and they made a racial slur toward him. They may have been joking but it wasn't taken that way. Worst camping experience EVER due to the hosts!!!! Will never camp there again...
Read moreNeed a reservatuon I busy season. Check maps in satellite view to pick your spot, or thru Recreation dot gov. There are areas big enough for groups but parking for trailers limited to 30 ft. Areas adjacent to individual campsites are amazing and leave plenty of room to share. During rafting season there were plenty of kayaks and rafts coming from Rimrock reservoir area. Fun to watch. Not sure where to put in and take out if you arrange your own trip, But there clearly appeared to be guided groups that went in together. That is a good idea for safety. And after rafting there is a nice restaurant, on the river, with picture windows to refuel and relax and enjoy comraderie. The canyon is lovely with steep sides which may limit your solar if you rely on it...
Read moreWe spent 2 nights (Sat/Sun) at this small campground & overall liked the experience. By late Sunday 12 of 16 sites were empty. At night he road noise ceased and we could hear the river. Had a huge space & most of the sites around the perimeter were fairly well secluded. Found access down to the Tieton River which was a great place to soak our toes in the heat of the day. If you have children use caution around the cold swift river. While there are no hikes from the campground there are trails up and down the White Pass area. There is only one hand water pump for the entire campground and...
