SECOND UPDATE: Due to these people being money hungry, they LIED to my bank, falsified the ring camera picture, LIED about my son service animal “damaging” the bed, LIED about how long I was there before saying we couldn’t stay due to the condition. But good prevailed over evil! The bank was able to see that it was physically impossible for me to have been at the hotel at the time frame they claimed I was there. BE AWARE OF THIS HOTEL AND STAFF! !!
UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE: You’re so sad to read this but you don’t care about what my son had to go through. And you don’t care to refund my money back. As I stated, Kay knew I have a special needs child. If you all cared at all, you wouldn’t have put us right next to the bar in the first place! Secondly; we weren’t there to a vacation, we were there for a family emergency. And offering a different room after my son seeing the DRUNK GUY PASSING OUT AGAINST YOUR SIGN, was a little to late. If you understood anything about children with special needs you would know that it was impossible to get him to agree to stay in a different room. If you truly “cared” you would refund me my money! You’re hotel was NOT up to par!
Booked this hotel on the 3rd. When I spoke with Kay on the phone I informed her that I have a special needs son which is why he has a service animal. I was not informed of the bar 10 feet from the hotel. I drove 17 hours straight to get there and see this. Went in to room and it smelled like amônia/urine. I texted Kay and informed her that we wouldn’t be able to stay. As I’m loading the car, a drunk man leaving the bar stumbles across the parking lot, as the bar and hotel share a parking lot, and he passes out against the hotel sign. That sealed the deal for us to not stay there. They did offer another room, however after the bar/noise/smell/and drunk guy, my son was beyond freaked out. I have contacted Kay 6 times asking for my refund and all I get is “let me check on that”. It’s been a week and I still have not received a refund. IF the bar wasn’t practically attached to the hotel and IF the room didn’t smell like urine, we would have stayed. However, with this experience I do not...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at this motel for one night before a cruise leaving from Port Canaveral and did the same thing about 18 months ago, so this was our second stay here. Our first stay here was great, which is why we decided to book again for this cruise. However, there were several issues ranging from minor inconvenience to a major safety concern that have made me rethink staying here in the future. To start with the minor inconveniences, we were missing hand soap in the bathroom and we got in late, so we just used body soap as hand soap. Our toilet paper roll was also empty on arrival, so we had to place a new one up ourselves. Not really a big deal, but just thought I should mention.
Now onto the serious concerns, shortly after we got into the room, we realized that there was not a single window in our room. I HATE waking up in the dark, so this was frustrating. However, I then started thinking about the potential major safety concern here-there’s only one point of egress from the room. If that were blocked in an emergency, you’d have no way out. There’s a tiny window in the bathroom that would be too small for most people to get through and also too high (I’d guess the bottom of the window was about 5ft off the ground). Windows must be no higher than 44 inches off the ground to be considered a point of egress, so I’m curious how they have not been cited for code violations.
Lastly, I noticed that there was no fire alarm in the ceiling (see attached picture). Turns out, it was sitting on top of the mini fridge and management just hadn’t bothered to mount it. For fire safety reasons, smoke detectors should ideally be mounted on the ceiling, but at least should be mounted high on a wall. Not sitting out at counter height.
I was extremely disappointed in this stay and likely won’t be back in the future due to the safety concerns...
Read moreI stayed at the Travel Inn Titusville over Memorial Day weekend and I was very impressed! As a frequent hotel guest, I can be somewhat nitpicky, but the Travel Inn exceeded my expectations. The gentleman who checked me in was polite and friendly, and the service was quick and efficient.
The room was very charming, homey, and extremely clean. Th air conditioner worked well and kept my room nice and cool during my stay. I booked a 2-night stay and the owner brought me clean towels on day 2 without having to make a request. The room included toiletries - a wonderful lemongrass soap and shampoo which was much nicer than what hotels/motels typically provide.
The Travel Inn is conveniently located - a quick drive to 95, route 50, Cocoa Beach, and Merritt Island. Additionally, this business is a small family owned establishment and I try to support small businesses when I can.
If I could make one suggestion, I would say the Inn should invest in a wifi-extender. I was located in room 10, which was farther away from the office and as such, the router. I could not get a decent wifi connection in my room. When I walked outside, closer to the office, I connected easily. When I stay again, I will request a room in the 1 -7 range, as that building is closer to the office. As a professional writer, a strong internet connection is a key component when I select a hotel/motel. A simple wifi-extender would is easily fix this problem, which in my eyes would make the Travel Inn Titusville the perfect choice for anyone visiting Titusville or the...
