As much as I would like to leave a positive review, the treatment we have received at this campground has compelled me to share. The lake itself is gorgeous, clean and by far the highlight is this location. Kayaking is easy and accessible and the beach, albeit small, is a nice amenity to have. Because of COVID, much of the campground is closed, which is not surprising, but we were also not made aware of prior to arriving. We booked our site through reserve America (which the campground links to directly from their website) and received no indication or prior warning of what rules would be in place during our stay. The beach was definitely our motivation in selecting this location. The manager, as well as various other employees have chased us down numerous times during our brief stay to impose a new rule or to charge us extra for my visiting parents for the day. (No dogs on the beach ( ours were at a table in the grass nowhere near the sand), no swimming (as we were knee deep in the water), no guests allowed, but then declared there was a $10 charge per guest, and proceeded to overcharge our credit card... The list goes on). The manager also proceeded to argue with us this afternoon, scolding us for being knee deep in the lake, and was incredibly rude and unnecessarily confrontational. He informed us the only way to book was to call their office and had we done it the right way, we would know that everything was closed. Untrue, and we paid full price for none of the amenities, or hospitality.

I would not recommend this campground. NYS is packed with campgrounds with lots of well kept amenities, friendly staff, and beautiful scenery. Take your money and...

We stayed here just one night as we were passing through. We stayed at a full hookup site.

The campground appears to be mostly seasonal/long-term, though there were also a couple of tenters and some other short term campers as well. The staff were very friendly and great to deal with. There is a playground and Beach area on-site, which my kids loved. There are a couple of bathrooms and laundry faculty on-site as well.

Some sites were crammed in together (where we stayed), and others had a lot of space between. We probably should have looked around and picked a spot we liked better, but it was a long day, and we just wanted a spot to park for the night, and with hookups to clean out before getting home the next day, and it did all of that. The hookups were great. The water pressure was good, electricity never got below 114 V, and it was a hot day with plenty of air conditioners running.

It is a bit rundown and dated, and a lot of the trailers were also dilapidated. However, a nice part of the obviously older campground is that the trees are very large and mature. Overall, it was a nice place to do an overnight, but it's not my cup of tea for a destination location. But I usually like to stay in state/national parks or boondocking.

I would stay here again overnight, but wouldn't make it a...

Terrible experience. Management and owner is very rude and disrespectful! Me and my family came from Tennessee and reserved 2 sites for 9 days. The first and only night we stayed the owner called the law to come kick us out for “excessive drinking and partying and urinating in the road and for not being able to speak English when told to be quiet.” Me and my family did not even have alcohol and English is the only language all of us speak. When the cop showed up she said she didn’t see where the problem was and didn’t understand why we were being discriminated against but it was the owners decision and we were forced to leave. If the owner wanted someone else to rent the campsite besides us outsiders (as we were called) he should have told us that before we set up our campers instead of making up a lie to kick us out. We even had several other campers in the park vouch for us that the situation was a total lie. VERY disappointed in how this campground (clique) is managed and the owners lack of hospitality and ability to run his business properly!! I would rate this “business” as they call it lower than 1 star if all possible....

We decided to go tent camping in the off season, and this site was perfect for that. The sites can be close, but in the off season we were so far away from anyone that it didn't matter. We fortunately had great weather while there, and waking up to the view of the lake was nice. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be with the shower. There is one men's, and one women's, shower per bathhouse, so I'm not sure how this goes over during the busy season. The men's shower really needed some CLR and a good scrub, but the water was hot and the shower made me feel presentable when interacting with the locals. We still enjoyed our stay, and would definitely camp here again.

Customer Service was 5 stars. Our rig was too large to fit on the Lakeside 1 lot so they moved us to Meadows 23. The area is very quiet. They do need to work on drainage or to put gravel down to fix the muddy low spots. I get it they don't control the weather, but I just hate that the tires and wheels get all muddy just backing in and pulling out one time. Without 4 wheel drive, I would have been in trouble.
